Yeah, sometimes if the thread has a bunch of posts (or if it is several pages long), I won't post on it. Instead I'll just read it, sometimes just to find that someone else posted what I was going to say.
It all depends on the thread though, some threads are interesting enough to post regardless of the amount of replies it already has.
