They are just jumping in on the cash cow. Guitar Hero/Rock Band are extremely popular. As long as it has a unique set list from the other games it will sell well.

This is honestly a shock to me. I would think the next Rock Band installation would be some sort of Green Day tribute, or maybe Pearl Jam or something. Never thought a Lego Rock Band would ever come into existence.
