Saw it Yesterday...Hollywood could learn a thing or two about this movie.

-Well Written
-Well Acted
-Well Structured
-Well Executed
-Great special effects
-Satisfying end.

I fucking loved it.

I really want to see this movie it sounds great. I love how they made so much effort to make district 9 seem like a real place with their websites (theirs more than MNU spreads lies.) I remember their selling something from the set on ebay as well.

I saw it last night and it was indisputably the best movie I've seen this year. The story was excellent and they kept the idea of aliens living among us very grounded, almost to a realistic point. The choice of Johannesburg as the movie's setting was very good, even though it's inspired by the Apartheid Era in South Africa concerning District 6 in Cape Town. Yay, I know history! The lead actor Wikur or whatever, I would really hope to see him appear in more movies in the future, he was really good! The 3D was excellent as well.

Glad Blomkamp got to make this movie instead of the Halo movie.

Saw it last night, damn good movie.

Suddenly I find that all those negative thoughts creeping around in the back of my head have been shot to the front in a blaze of unwelcomed glory.

Saw it, too, and I have to agree. It did a unique take on the sci-fi genre, making aliens the good guys and most of the humans bad. I liked how it alternated back and fourth with mockumentary and non-mockumentary filming. Story, acting, and action sequences were all well done. There's only two or three small problems I have with it, like a coincidence in the plot I didn't buy. Otherwise, it's a really good film.

Saw it for the second time today. Still badass.

Just had to make sure.

Although, one thing I did notice second time around, was just how heavily foreshadowing the beginning is....little clues and visual hints. Like the Mother, first being interviewed, how she kept herself from crying. How the black guy, who would be the main character's replacement, was in an orange jumpsuit...shit like that.

But, again, still amazing.

Good movie, at the end the guy becomes one of the aliens lol, and everybody thinks he is missing, but he's actually living in District 10 (the new district)

I just wish they didn't film it cloverfield style, so I wouldn't have to fight the urge to throw up in the second half of the movie

I thought Transformers 2 was pretty damn good. However, no interest in G.I. Joe what so ever.

What were those? They left some things unanswered, but that's not the same thing as a plot hole.

It was a great movie. Incredible CGI, interesting characters, and a great story. That little baby alien stole my heart.

So there was this spaceship fuel that turns people into aliens and like the aliens had super powerful guns but didn't use them and they were abused, and the aliens could understand what the people were saying and vice versa, without having to speak the same language.

It was a GREAT movie.

That's it, I'm leaving...Fuck this place!

It's on the Top 250 on the IMDB (even Top 100, I think). I've heard great things about it from nearly every website, so I will see this. It should be a heck of a lot better than the Transformers movie.

Great movie. Well acted, and (go figure) the visuals were great.

It's nothing like the previews make it seem. Also, as a heads up, there's a bit of bodily fluid/gore, so be warned. When I say gore, I mean guns that shoot lightning and explode people (literally). And puking, there's puking.

But it's definitely on my top 5 summer movies.

Rotten Tomatoes loved it too

I want to see that movie so bad. It reminds me of Half-Life 2 a lot and it looks epic. It's very rarely that I anticipate seeing a movie, but this movie has definitely caught my attention.

What 3D?

Anyway, this was a great movie, and I'd say that it's the second-best movie I've seen in theaters this year(it's beaten by Coraline for me). That sure was a depressing ending, though.

Unforseen side-effect of biological xeno-technology.

...and like the aliens had super powerful guns but didn't use them and they were abused...

They did use them. The footage in the documentary section didn't always show it, but it was evident that they used their weapons.

Also you may have overlooked the fact that most of the prawns were aimless working class...the great majority of them were very simple-minded, with few exceptions, including the "Christopher Johnson" prawn.

...and the aliens could understand what the people were saying and vice versa, without having to speak the same language.

20+ years of research can pull off one helluva thing. Also, when in doubt, just take from Douglas Adams and the "Babelfish"

It was a GREAT movie.

That. It. Truly. IS.

And YOU should take a load off in treating it as such.
