Totally stoleded this idea from Soulseek's 1MM.

It is essentially an enormous, collaborative remix track. One person starts by submitting a one-minute, open-ended track, and the next person in line continues the project off of the previous track. The tracks as a whole must be accurately aligned, and use a consistent BPM, of course.

If enough people are interested (ideally 15-20), maybe we can start something. Let me know, sign up here ;O

I would try this. Definitely a place to refine my skills.

I may be up for this, depending on how many other people are into it. I'll wait and see how much interest there is in it :)

This sounds like a great idea, although the idea of trying to submit a 30 minutes song to NG doesn't sound like it would be under 5mb (that's the requirement right?). I'd join, but not until I buy so FL, so that's a no for now.

Should settle with 120 BPM to compliment the one minute time restriction.

No genre limitation either, just cooperate with the previous track. I want to let anyone interested play along, and I like the idea of a constantly morphing mix. Of course, if someone submits 60 seconds of white noise or uses some odd time signature, I'm going to skip it.

And yeah, probably not going to get it onto the audio portal. If it turns out pretty cool, maybe we could try to pull some strings with the admin crew? Either way, it'll be fun to work on, imo!

I'll use the order of replies in this thread as the line-up. Submissions must be 60 seconds in length, and you'll have three days tops to finish your submission (for those of us that are ridiculously busy IRL ;( ).

I'll see if I can't start it off tonight!

STARTED! Sent my track to Steak.

Also, I lied again. 120 BPM would be retarded, especially considering the general population here is serving 4/4 for life, so I used 128 BPM to match the traditional signature. I was thinking in seconds when I said 120 earlier.

You can shoot for another time signature if you can make it work ;O I just know it'll be odd for some people.

Try to render and send me WAV or AIFF files if you can (sendspace, etc), and I'll host them up on my web space.

Could make it into a flash movie. and uploads parts of it on the audio portal. Link to the parts with the flash movie aswell. Or pull those admin strings.
