That's a long story. In short, DirectX helped them conquer the gaming market, and in the process the home PC market.

The lack of games for Mac has nothing to do with compatibility. It's the developers choice not to port some games because Windows has the majority.

Macs have overpriced hardware, and I don't like the OS. Now some people might like the OS I guess, but no one can deny that the hardware is overpriced. You'd be better off buying a windows computer and putting Mac OS on it.

I use it on my laptop as my main OS, primarily because it doesn't take up a lot of space and my computer is not good enough to play games anyway. When I get a desktop I'll get Vista and partition some space for Ubuntu. Vista will only be used for gaming.

I don't know if anybody has mentioned it before, but instead of Ubuntu, get Linux Mint. And keep it as a secondary OS, dual boot it so you still have windows. If you don't know what dual booting is or how to do it, you're not going to understand Linux and you should stick with Windows.

Finally, some objectivity. The hardware being overpriced is your personal opinion. Most would say that Macs have higher resale value, and the benefits of having a single warranty, the AMERICAN tech support (which is my opinion). To someone who wants all these things a little extra $ might seem worth it.

You overexagerate the pricing.

Plus look at the new Macbooks, the body is milled from a solid piece of aircraft aluminum. That's good engineering that I haven't seen in other laptop manufacturers.

For people that don't care about those things, maybe it's overpriced to them.

:Lets just stop this from becoming a flame war and be adults about this. OS choice is a personal thing based on the user's experience. And while no one OS is perfect, there are differen't OS for different people.

And for the record, I tried to end it first but you kept it going. So don't try to act like your any better fanboy. Any of these OS are really only as good as the user anyways.

I have a friend that uses Windows because he's addicted to gaming but he's a smart user so it works fine for him, sorta like it does you I guess.

I don't like waiting 3 min for a Start Menu to open so I can spend my time run Virus & Spyware scans. Plus a lot of programs I use work better on Mac or are only for Mac.
