that's pretty much the only thing to take solace in (other than jamarcus's temporary benching) after a 30+ point shutout loss.

lol, Miles Austin saved my fantasy season in the NG league. Also, Mike Bell put up more fantasy points than both Tomlinson and Barber, lol @ that and of course T.O continues to suck balls. Must be because of the reality TV show - I think it's like a voodoo curse, once you appear on reality television you are doomed to be a complete failure in every aspect of life.

*What a difference a week makes; most everyone had either 10 or 9 wins this week. It was so good this week, let's have another week of 13 games. Also, since I already make up a weekly ranking list when doing the standings, I'll just post it as well.
*Pepeatumi didn't make a pick this week so he is dropped to the rift raft; not to mention idiot-buster and Crashman also did not make picks.
*No more people will be added on to this list since the trade deadline already passed and it makes a good cut off point.

Armageddon II!

I think it's going to be interesting to say the least, but I doubt the Packers are going to win. There is too much hatred in Farve's eyes to have him lose verses them, even if it's at Lambeau Field. I mean that is the whole point of him returning; beat the Packers into oblivion.

They pretty much Willis McGahee'd his ass. It made me feel better watching the slaughter knowing that at the end of the day, at least all of our guys weren't facing potentially career ending injuries (save Jamarcus Russells stupidity.) I'd like to see Charlie Frye and Gradkowski combined get most of the snaps next week. I think Frye has a more likely chance of breaking out than Jamarcus at this point.

Houston at Buffalo - I think the Texans overlook the Bills on this one. Bills

Cleveland at Chicago - Chicago. Easy bounce back.

Seattle at Dallas - Seattle gets a surprise one.

St. Louis at Detroit - Hopefully Detroit. Seriously.

Denver at Baltimore - Denver, because of better coaching.

San Francisco at Indianapolis - Indianapolis, because of better QB.

Miami at NY Jets - PLEASE PLEASE be the Dolphins.

NY Giants at Philadelphia - Philadelphia ftw.

Jacksonville at Tennessee - Jacksonville keeps Tennessee winless.

Oakland at San Diego - San Diego had it close next time, but they can string together two wins.

Carolina at Arizona - Arizona will get this.

Minnesota at Green Bay - Minnesota has the pass rush.

Atlanta at New Orleans - New Orleans until they lose.

got my upsets going this week. Don't think Denver pulls out on Baltimore this week, but I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled something out of their asses to win. Jacksonville is a better team than Tennessee, especially with the Titans' QB issues. If they can keep Chris Johnson to a minimum level of effectiveness, this one should be a gimme.

Miami has the wildcat down pat, and they ran all over NO last week but only managed to lose by going with the pass. If they stick to the run this week, Dolphins will run all over the Jets.

If STL doesn't win this week, I don't think they have much of a chance to win a game the rest of the year. I think this is the week Steven Jackson finally hits end-zone paydirt again. Detroit is hurtin', so I'll take the Rams as an upset pick here, especially if Bulger can do anything close to be mediocre. Shame how his career has gone to shit.

I've got Minny over GB, but if Antoine Winfield is out for the Vikes I might consider changing to GB, given they're playing at home in Lambeau and without Winfield, Greg Jennings is a lot more dangerous.

Houston is looking pretty good. But they're turning into the new decade's Eagles; they win the games they shouldn't, and lose the games they shouldn't. But Buffalo is too bad right now.
Texans.

Cleveland at Chicago -

Meh, this could be a toss up, depending on how each team plays. I'm thinking that Chicago might be able to pull something together long enough to squeak out a win.
Bears.

Seattle at Dallas -

This will either be a joke or a close game.
Cowboys

St. Louis at Detroit -

I'm rooting for St. Louis; no team should go 0-16, and this may be their only chance, unless they run into a #1 Playoff seed in December.
Rams

Denver at Baltimore -

Should be another great game this week. Maybe Denver will prove once and for all that they can play with the big boys. Of course, Baltimore plays Plaxico Burress every week and shoots themselves.
Broncos

San Francisco at Indianapolis -

On paper, this doesn't look like a good match up. But San Fran is doing pretty damn good and could make this game interesting. But not interesting enough
Colts

Miami at NY Jets -
NY Giants at Philadelphia -

The heated rivalry continues, as 2 teams that haven't beaten anyone worth noting (except Giants over Cowboys) battle it out for NFC East supremacy.
Giants

Jacksonville at Tennessee -

I'm going Jacksonville, unless Tennessee becomes magical.
Jaguars

Oakland at San Diego -

Everyone said that San Diego might lose to the Chiefs last week. Hopefully they pull a repeat.
Chargers.

Carolina at Arizona -

Arizona is a contender again this year. They might make it to the Super Bowl again, which would be something to see.
Cardinals.

Minnesota at Green Bay -

This is the reason Favre came back in the NFL and to the Vikings; so he could destroy the Packers.
Vikings.

Atlanta at New Orleans -

Can't see Atlanta matching one of the best teams in the NFL.
Saints.

That is. The only reason they discredit the Giants is because they haven't beaten anyone too good. But they are much better than every other team in the NFC East by far. The only team that comes close is the Eagles, who are the most inconsistent thing in the NFL besides Favre's retirement.

Buffalo

Cleveland at Chicago -

Seattle at Dallas -

Dallas

St. Louis at Detroit -

Detroit

Denver at Baltimore -

I'm thinking that Baltimore's defense steps up at home, and so does Flacco
Baltimore

San Francisco at Indianapolis -

Colts

Miami at NY Jets -

Jets

NY Giants at Philadelphia - Philly's good passing game against a weak NYG secondary and a good NYG running game against a weak Philly linebacker corps. It's a toss-up to me, but...

Philly

Jacksonville at Tennessee -

Jaguars

Oakland at San Diego -

San Diego

Carolina at Arizona -

Arizona

Minnesota at Green Bay -

Green Bay

Atlanta at New Orleans -

I can't see Drew Brees not dominating Atlanta's depleted secondary which includes none other than a former high school classmate of mine in Brent Grimes. To be fair, him covering Miles Austin in Dallas last week was a mismatch, but damn.

Here is my obligatory college football post for this week.

Key Games:
Georgia vs. #1 Florida
#12 Penn State at Northwestern
#11 Georgia Tech at Vanderbilt
#22 South Carolina at Tennessee
#3 Texas at #14 Oklahoma State
#5 USC at # 10 Oregon

--

No surprise that most of the watchable games this week are SEC teams. It's getting that point of the year where they are finally are playing against each other and we get to finally see who is the real deal. We'll see if Georgia can pull off the upset and have the entire team, dance in the endzone again.

There are key games in the Pac 10 and Big 12; USC faces the red hot ducks of Oregon who are surprisingly are atop of the conference standings. While in the Big 12 South, there is a battle of who can topple Texas. I seriously doubt the Pokes have a chance and hearing them talk of a conference title is fairly laughable when they are 0-11 verses the Longhorns in the past 11 meetings, but we'll see what they can do.

NY Giants at Philadelphia - Giants
Jacksonville at Tennessee - I'd like to see Vince Young step up for this game. He's got the start. Titans.
Oakland at San Diego - Oakland
Carolina at Arizona - Arizona
Minnesota at Green Bay - Minnesota in Lombardi Field. You KNOW Favre wants this one. Vikings
Atlanta at New Orleans - New Orleans

for those of you who picked Buffalo over Houston, please explain to me HOW they're going to win? Ryan Fitzpatrick has a weaker arm than Trent Edwards and is the exact same checkdown QB, thus they really don't have any deep threats even though they should with Owens and Lee Evans. They have Lynch & Fred Jackson, but if all they have is the running game and checkdowns, Houston's D is just going to stack the box all day, wouldn't you think?

I mean I know Houston's D is somewhat porous, but you can't overlook DeMeco Ryans, Mario Williams, Brian Cushing & company. Lotta stud defensive players on there that could have a big impact on the game, especially since Buffalo's o-line has its' share of holes.

Also...Schaub has Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels, Slaton, Kevin Walter, Andre' Davis, Jacoby Jones....I mean I know Texas tends to lose a lot of games they're more than capable of winning, but this one I just don't understand.

Yeah, he just embarrassed Georgia this afternoon. There is no real way to stop him; he can run as well as pass with ease and he's practically a shoe-in for his second Heisman.

Speaking of embarrassed, Michigan got beat down by Illinois and Iowa just barely survives. Not a good day for the Big 10.

Actually, Fitzpatrick is nothing like Captain Trent Checkdown. It's also a misconception that he has a weak arm, he doesn't. He hit Lee Evans on a perfect 50 yard bomb against Carolina last week. His problem is accuracy, which is horrible. In fact, neither Trent or Fitzpatrick have a weak arm. Trent is just too scared to so anything but check down, and Fitz just has poor accuracy. At least Fitzpatrick throws to the ball downfield.

And Buffalo has one of the elite pass defenses in the league. If Houston wants to beat Buffalo, they'll have to run it (which Buffalo sucks at defending.) However, with the way the Texans' run game is going, it's nothing that should overpower the Bills defense.

Houston is a weird team. They have all the individual talent in the world, but they usually suck as a whole (at least defensively, and in run offense).

I think Houston will win, but they aren't a FAR superior team by any means.
