In 4, I was Prestige 4, level 52.

In WaW, I prestiged by mistake, and now I'm at about 37, maybe?

Never prestiged. There was never really any incentive for me to do so. No achievements, no unlockables, perks, etc. I'm sure they will fix that in MW2 though. If not, level 50 here I come.

In MW2 they should just let people get to rank 1000.

I'm being serious. Even if there are no unlockables and just a rank, I don't care. I hated losing all my stuff!. and i think I was on my 2nd prestige. Cod:WaW I was nowhere

And if at lv 1000 you unlocked a bb gun that did 1/10 of the damage as a normal pistol.

I presiged in WaW, got the achievement.

Then, Treyarch reset my rank to level 1 no prestige simply for having "MUSE" as my clan tag. I didn't get any messages or emails from them but I assume this was the case because it won't let you put it anymore.
So now i'm level 30-somat, no prestige. Only play zombies usually on WaW anyways.

And i'm second prestige level 50-somat on CoD4.

None. I have the PC version and PC gamers don't feel the need to disadvantage themselves for the sake of a little badge next to their name. So IW conveniently left it out of the PC version.
