affermative action = shit
i base this statement on the fact that im gonna get screwed when i go to college. BY denying someone that is better qualifed to go to college than another, all we're doing is suppressing another race. How is it fair that i get screwed out of college because i was born white? Im in no ways rich, but i dont believe it fair to send someone of a different race to college because "their schools werent as rich." last time i checked, white kids went there too. Instead of having a racial discirmination system, we should have a monitary system, that way poor kids like me can get into college.
Im damn tired of these "cuz im *insert minority here* i have more rights than you to complain about shit" arguements. Im sorry that your greatgreat great grandfather's life was hard, but all youre doing is making my life hard. Instead of having a decent career, i now i have to go and work my hands to the bone, even though im more qualified than someone else.
Sit and think about it:
1. Im getting screwed even though it was i that work to save money to take the SATs, ACTs and not my parents.
2. Explain how sending someone less qualified than myself is fair. You screw me by sending the one that didnt work as hard or didnt do as well. Is it fair to screw someone that tried and did better? thats like taking the gold medal from the winner and giving it to the second place athlete even since hes african.
3. Why should i be punished? Last time i checked i didnt have much choice on which vagina i came out of.
4. I HATE AFFERMATIVE ACTION. DIE DAMNIT DIE!!!

Wait, are you saying this figuratively or literaly?
i base this statement on the fact that im gonna get screwed when i go to college.
No, no you won't. The effects of affirmative action in higher education are overblown.
How is it fair that i get screwed out of college because i was born white?
No, your not going to be.
Im in no ways rich, but i dont believe it fair to send someone of a different race to college because "their schools werent as rich." last time i checked, white kids went there too.
People aren't being sent to college because they went to shitty high schools, they're going to get further educated....
Instead of having a racial discirmination system, we should have a monitary system, that way poor kids like me can get into college.
Yes, yes we do. I'm going to a college where the tuition is higher than my parent's yearly salaries (put together). Factor in housing and shelter, food, books, etc.
Im damn tired of these "cuz im *insert minority here* i have more rights than you to complain about shit" arguements.
Yeah, those asshole minorities complaining about discrimination.
Im sorry that your greatgreat great grandfather's life was hard, but all youre doing is making my life hard.
More like their parent's and their parent's parents, but, ok. You kind of get the idea. And, once again, it's not making your life hard.
Instead of having a decent career, i now i have to go and work my hands to the bone, even though im more qualified than someone else.
Really? Come on now, now your just blaming your *imaginery* failing to get into college on minorities. That's the easy way out. And bullshit I might add..
Sit and think about it:
Ok. Done.
1. Im getting screwed even though it was i that work to save money to take the SATs, ACTs and not my parents.
Nope.
2. Explain how sending someone less qualified than myself is fair. You screw me by sending the one that didnt work as hard or didnt do as well. Is it fair to screw someone that tried and did better? thats like taking the gold medal from the winner and giving it to the second place athlete even since hes african.
So your saying that they are sending someone less qualified than you only because of race? Could you please go back and look at the example I posted, the michigan university form? Please? So you'd know what your talking about?
3. Why should i be punished? Last time i checked i didnt have much choice on which vagina i came out of.
Last time I checked, you weren't being punished.
4. I HATE AFFERMATIVE ACTION. DIE DAMNIT DIE!!!
Wait, this sealed it. Your right. By typing in caps, and miss spelling it, you've convinced me. Or not.

No. There are laws seperate from affirmative action that says you can't discriminate on the basis of race (nothing really about gender yet, go figure). Affirmative action is taking a pro-active stance. By the time the laws are enforced, it's already happened. yadda yadda.
One example is giving underrepresented minorities acouple points extra on college entrance exams.

Well, that's silly. So black people get an extra 1% or so. What's the point in that?

to get ethnic minorities to vote for them.
i forget who said it, but someone did and they may have been famous:"democracy only works until people realise they can vote themselves a bigger share of the wealth".

I posted the Michigan University entrance thing earlier. Basically, there were your grades, test scores, stuff like that. Which naturally account for the majority of whether you'll get in or not
Then, there were a bunch of possible ways to get another (maximum) 40 points. The biggest pay-offs, with 20 points apiece, were: underrepresented minority, economic status, sports scholarship stuff, and 20 points to the Dean's discresion. There were many other possible ways to hit the max 40 points in this large category, like if your in state, out of state, any kind of recognition, if you had a successful interview, entrance essays, etc., etc., etc.
Bush tried to rally against the addition of the underrepresented minority part awhile back, falsely calling the system a quota system, etc. The Supreme Court ruled it constitutional.
