3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsHans Teeuwen is a Dutch comedian who doesn't have nearly as much international fame as he deserves. One reason could be that he's been performing in English only since 2007. Nevertheless, I recommend everyone to check him out, he's the funniest comedian I've seen in a while.
His comedy is very absurd and unpredictable, often with sensitive themes like sex and blasphemy. His vulgar and offensive, but childishly innocent style, as well as his stupid sing-alongs remind me of Andy Kaufman. In his home country, he is also known as a free speech advocate.
To be honest, I've only just discovered him and seen one full set of his comedy, so I don't know if he's so still so funny after watching him for a long time. I have no idea if he recycles his jokes etc.
You can watch his performance in London here. In the first video, he's just playing the piano in a funny way, but the rest of the playlist is pure gold.
interesting thanks for the info ill check him out.
cherry garcia: its like having an angel cum in your mouth
A guy from Helsinki talking about a dutch Comedian (Cabaratier as we say over here)
Very, VERY INTERSTING ;).
I wonder how you find him.
Hans is just great. He is the kinda guy who can get away with simply everything. In one of his shows he is explaining how he fucked the mother of our queen. In another show he explains why all females are whores and guys should be able todo whatever they want. Even if he devines his story, females have to admit that there is a point in his story... can you imagine... ;p
Playing around with crutches with someone from the audience...
Smoking on stage during his *break*
Let the whole crowed thank Jezus for everything he has done (that will make him happy again)
And the list continues...
We need this kinda people on this planet, to keep things a bit relevant ;p.
Loved your post dude, hope some more people OUTSIDE holland read this one.
It seems like he just says absurd, shocking statements for laughs.
I find him a bit more confusing than funny.
Keep in mind his original shows are dutch, and we have some kind of twisted humor ;p.
hans is searching for the limits and finds them but he is ONE of the only persons in holland
how does not back down for everything which is happening here at this very moment, culture problems. He stays the way he is although he left holland for 2 years or some beacuse he did not liked it anymore when politics started to tell comedians what they can say an cannot.
He wrote one of the best songs ever written, het vrije woord (the free word - litturally, freedom of speech). His interview with *the females of Halal* is legendary because he can say things which are SO true but noone dares to say it, otherwise you got a knife in your chest (RIP Theo Van Gogh and Pim Fortuin) Although I am not a nationalist, noir a racist, it is true that the freedom of speech in holland, is dying...

Yeah, here's the interview, with subtitles..
I suspect that the reason why extremists haven't killed him yet is because they consider him to be mentally ill and take a pity on him.
If he doesn't have much international fame, then why he is performing in London?
You know the world's gone crazy when the best rapper's a white guy and the best golfer's a black guy - Chris Rock
really do note that Hans Teeuwen can be realy focking offensive, thats why i've loved him for 8 years now ^^
Go into the water, live there, DIE there!

Most professional comedians worth their salt will perform around the world at festivals or whatever. They can still perform and not be famous all over the world.
@Leet
Thanks for this share, I am going to put it in here once more to share the words of this great mind.
