I've noticed that less and less people go to church today. It's really sadening to see more and more people turn from the Lord to atheisam. Are any of you loyal christians still out there? Hello? Is any one left?

You don't have to go to church to be Christian. Maybe people are realizing that and stopped coming to church as much.

I personally have no opinion on the matter of religion, it's not something I care or want to think about.

It's because people have more freedom to not be Christian. Before, it was a social standard that you would be, but now, atheism is widely accepted.

Also, people are being scared away from Christianity due to extremism.

im catholic and go to church, if thats enough. i don't necessarily care if anyones atheist or not, just that they don't bitch about how "there is no god". that gets annoying. but it dont bother me too much.

You don't need to go to church to believe in God or be religious. I stopped going a while ago, and while I still believe in God, I'm a hell of a lot happier now than when I was going.

Yes, I was grabbed by Atheism's mighty God, Athei when I was about 12. Most people don't know about Athei, I'm glad you brought him up. He is the mighty God of reason. When your God says "This will protect me" Athei says "Let's test that hypothesis".

because more and more people are trying their best to believe in this so called GOD of your but they only find out that there is no fucking god, there was no jesus christ. the bible was writtin millions of years ago by someone then lost. someone found it then made a big fucking deal out of it. in revelations it claims the "messiah" would "return" after the following signs; volcanoes, war, earthquakes, hitler type shit.....

That is a gross generalization. When I left the church when I was 12, I studied Buddhism, Islam and Taoism, in addition to Norse, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, and Native American mythology. None of it really seemed to really have it. And I couldn't really distinguish Theology from Mythology, which in my mind boiled the whole thing down to fables to live by. And after 2000 I don't think the fables hold up.

As for me, I'm a Christian, but I don't attend church regularly. I've spent the past 5 years of my life studying many religions, including Atheism, Agnosticism, Mormonism, Judaism, Jehovah Witness, Buddhism, Islam, and Wicca. Christianity just makes the most sense to me. I don't know why Atheists have to make such a big deal about people believing in God. I can't comprehend how anyone could not believe in him, but I don't attack Atheists because of it. In fact, I can't recall a time I've ever stated an argument with one. They usually ask me if I believe in God, and when I say yes, they go on to tell me how stupid I am.

I don't like to post in religious threads, but what 1001115968 pretty much sums up NG. Not very many "true" atheists, or agnostics (or whatever you call yourselves) have actually studied different religions and come to the conclusion that your believes make the most sense. Most of you just hate Christians.

My point is, make sure you know what you're talking about before you start talking bad about someone's believes.
