My predictions were underestimating how fast Windows would gain market share. Windows 7 is still only a release candidate and is at 93 percent! Already a 3 percent gain: http://marketshare.hitslink.com/operatin g-system-market-share.aspx?qprid=8

Reasons:
Every one is downloading Windows 7 RC
Every one is pre-ordering Windows 7
Every one is buying a Vista loaded PC, knowing they will recieve Windows 7 for free once it releases on October 22.

And when Windows 7 comes out, every one will buy it, raising the Windows market share by 2-3 percent. Then it will grow from there and Microsoft will have complete world domination!

Why the hate? Where is the love?

Mac market share is over 10%. It was at 9.6% in January, and has grown slightly since then.

And how exactly does that measure the market share? I have doubts about it's accuracy.

For instance, the Wii is listed on there was making up less than 0.01% of all computers ... somehow I find that slightly hard to believe.

Windows Market share has nothing to do with windows 7. It market share is up because of Sony's Vaio computers and Microsoft's Xbox 360's input with computer gaming.

Yea, it's what vista should have been. Will be released in full this Autumn but the betas and all that jazz released earlier this year are enough to keep everyone happy

Well the website just updated how its rating system works, so percentages are now more accurate: http://marketshare.hitslink.com/weightin g.aspx

And out of computers that makes sense for the Wii, but out of gaming systems it most likely has 40%-60%.

ONLY if you bought the computer after June 26th, I believe. Before that, well...yeah. Buy Windows 7 on October 22nd. Also there was a period where Windows 7 was half off for pre-order but that ended a while ago.
