Spent today rearranging this room and putting together these argos book cases that are fucking never in stock ever. I'm happy with how they turned out.

So, I've finally got that cash and sent my PS2 for repairs. Had problems with the lens ribbon and had no display when plugged in, so ashfdi

And the dude said they won't charge a dime if it's FUBAR, which I don't know whether it's a good thing or not considering I have this urge to replay all my fave PS2 games and that the Fire Emblem for the 3DS and God Eater for the PSP recently got my attention.

why can't my brain decide on one single thing ffs

So Black ops 2 is free to play on steam this weekend. I'm going to play it to see how big the differences are to that and mw3/bo1.

Subsistence is an actual word though, it means to live bear grylls style or something. It makes sense with MGS3, while "revengeance" is just ass.

I got Fahrenheit in the post yesterday. Wanted to play this game for a while so I can't wait till I've got a bit of free time to get stuck into it.

Well, one of my games programming lecturers considers it to be his favourite game of all time if that counts for anything. Never played it myself.

Ah, Indigo Prophecy. It starts out very compelling, but towards the end, it's just..."what is happening?".

It was a downward slope after COD4 if you ask me. That game was great. So simple yet it worked. Then they started over complicating the classes and adding too many killstreaks. I think it started to ruin the fun on the game a bit because there was so much stuff flying around that could kill you.

I still find the more recent COD games fun IF I'm playing with friends. They're still a good laugh if you party up with people you know and joke around. I don't think I'd ever really want to play them on my own though.

I'm in the mood for expanding my Nintendo 64 collection and I need help deciding what to buy, most of the games that I really want are £35+ like Majora's Mask (£34.98, close enough) and Paper Mario (£56.99). Admittedly, that's not a massive amount of money but I've seen them cheaper in the past and want to wait and see if they drop over the next few months.

I've narrowed it down to a few of the cheaper titles that I do want/remember playing and enjoying:
Bomberman 64
Yoshi's Story
Hybrid Heaven
Donkey Kong 64 (I already have the expansion pack luckily)

Bomberman 64 is the only one I've played and I remember enjoying it when I was about 8 or so but most reviews don't seem so positive which kind of puts me off. I don't want the game entirely based on nostalgia, I want something that I'd enjoy.

Any thoughts, guys?

I really liked Indigo Prophecy, it was fun as hell for me when I first played through it. I had never heard of the game, and found it at my mom's house. I figured I'd "borrow" it, and I had a great time. I'd never before played that kind of game before, so it was a very neat experience. I loved it all up until the game hit a part where the disc was damaged or scratched up too much, and I couldn't play anymore.

Either way, it opened my eyes to Quantic Dream, and influenced me to check out Heavy Rain once it came out, which is another game I really enjoyed.

Yeah, whatever.

Got my PS2 back from repairs. Can't play some games, turns out it's because they're scratched pretty badly (a circular scratch mark). Plays back nicely on PCSX2.

God dammit.

Perhaps you should look around a little more on gaming webshops, because that sounds like max price they're asking and indeed, I think you can find them cheaper. Consider checking European webshops outside the UK as well. They might sell them for 50 euros which could already save you quite a few bucks.

It did appear to be cheapest which is a definite plus.

I was going by the lowest price for each game on Amazon UK but I agree, that's probably not the cheapest place to look. Ebay was considerably dearer in most cases though which is unfortunate. I've checked out a couple of other more specialist websites but most of the games I'm interested in are sold out. I guess Nintendo 64 games won't ever drop in price massively now that they're long out of production.

I'll keep looking into other websites though like you suggested, I appreciate the advice.

Well I'm stuck in a gaming dilemma here. I've been trying to see what my friends think out of the two but I'm still undecided. I can't spend too much right now but if there's one game I'd love to play, it's either Tomb Raider or Metal Gear Rising. My friends were favouring MGR more but I debated to myself that to spend something around 30 on a video game I should go for the game that has better length and I've been hearing how short MGR is (just like every MGS game ever) so I'm still torn apart.

It sucks I'm debating so hard here since these are two gaming franchises that I've known for so long. Both have been with me for 15 years now and to think they're still going with strong titles doesn't make it good for me. Granted, I still need to play them to decide whether they're good or not but I do like how Tomb Raider is getting good reviews and I feared from the start that game would completely bomb and finally put the series in its resting tomb once and for all.

The more recommendations I hear the better.

So, I've decided to finally play a video game for what feels like the first time in months. I still have so many JRPGs sitting around that it's hard for me to decide what I want to play, but I've gone with Final Fantasy VII. I have made some progress with this game a while back but then for some reason I stopped playing. Memory card said I was 12 hours in but I've decided to start over.

Final Fantasy is one of those series that everyone talks about that I've not spent much time playing. In fact, Crisis Core on the PSP is the only FF game I've beaten. Other than that, X is the only other one I've made much progress with. I have copies of Crisis Core, VII, Dirge of Cerberus, VIII (ordered it the other day, not here yet), IX, X, X-2 and XII. I really need to get around to playing them.

My GameCube collection is also shaping up nicely. I think I've now ticked off most of the games that I originally wanted on the system. Anything missing from that picture that you guys would recommend? Mostly just interested in the GameCube exclusives, but some of them sell for more than I'm willing to pay. Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skies of Arcadia and Tales of Symphonia cost me a lot more than I'd usually pay for games, but they seemed like pretty great games.

It's a series definitely worth diving into. I would strongly recommend picking up VI as well.

Metroid Prime 2? The first Metroid Prime game was better in my opinion, but two is definitely worth a play as well.

Maybe you'll like Baten Kaitos if you're into JRPGs. Not a great game in my opinion, but if you can get it for a low price you may find it worth picking up.

I also enjoyed the Prince of Persia series, but they're not Gamecube exclusive.

Lastly, I haven't played the game myself, but Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem always seems to get loads of praise.

I'm positive that I used to own the FF Anthology (which contained IV and V) and apparently I did own VI at some point as well because I just for a save file for it on my memory card. Although FF isn't a series I've spent much time on, I always look out for the games for some reason. If I see them selling at a reasonable price, I'll buy them. FF Origins, Anthology and VI are on my list of games to look out for.

Metroid Prime 2? The first Metroid Prime game was better in my opinion, but two is definitely worth a play as well.

I didn't spend too much time playing the first Metroid Prime game. I found it quite hard to get into at the time. I guess because I was looking for something more linear and couldn't be bothered with the exploration. But yea, Metroid Prime 2 is another game that I'll pick up if the price is right.

I watched a playthrough of RE1(Jill) and RE2(Jill A, Leon B) and was wondering something about RE2. Which order do you think is canonical, Jill A, Leon B or Leon A, Jill B? I looked online and from what I saw, most people insisted that it's Jill A, Leon B, but in that playthrough (SPOOOOILEEERS) Ada Wong dies...And it doesn't seem to leave any speculation, like "well, maybe she wasn't really dead". And obviously, she's alive later in the canon. Is it the same with Leon A, Jill B?

I assume Claire, not Jill. I'd lean towards Claire A, Leon B, a character falling into a chasm doesn't mean much when a series is retconned as much as Resident Evil, wesker got clearly impaled and they still brought him back for a shitload more games. The A and B scenarios don't really matter anyway, the official continuity is whatever happens in Darkside chronicles.

She didn't fall in that one, unless the YT videos were titled wrong. Is that what happened in Leon A, Claire B?

wesker got clearly impaled and they still brought him back for a shitload more games.

I heard that he injected himself with some kind of virus or something after they left that kept him alive and gave him powers.

But I will keep my eyes peeled for a copy of Paper Mario. Doesn't seem like a game you're likely to get a good deal on though.

Been a while since I played RE2, but as far as I remember Ada falls to her death in Leon B.

I heard that he injected himself with some kind of virus or something after they left that kept him alive and gave him powers.

In RE1 he gets torn open and left lying there with blood everywhere. You can even check the body. I'm pretty sure it was Code Veronica that brought him back and the RE1 remake that retconned his death so that he conveniently infected himself before getting impaled and resurrected as soon as the heroes left the room, while still having enough time to escape the mansion on foot and get to a safe distance before the explosion.

I picked up three games the other day (well, four technically) at Gamestop for about $45. I got the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus collection, Heavenly Sword, and Resonance of Fate. I began with Shadow of the Colossus and I found one glaring problem already.

The horse is so fucking hard to control...

Am I the only one who's had trouble with controlling the horse? Or is this a common thing?

On Youtube, it said Leon B, but whichever one I saw, she died in Leon's arms.

So, she dies that way in one, and falls in the other? Do you clearly see her die? Is there any ambiguity at all, or is it like "yup, dead"?
