Yea, it's understandable. I think it's Saturday night that Luis plans on going to a played called Kyoto Lounge, which is pretty much the perfect place for VG regs. It's essentially a bar with 3/4 Xboxs, 2/3 PS3s, a SNES and a room full of high end gaming PCs of which there's maybe like 15 or something. We went there last time and it was pretty awesome. There was even talk of getting it closed for the night so that the people attending the NG meet had it to themselves.

In other news, today is my last day of freedom. Tomorrow it's back to uni and all the stress that comes with it. Unsure whether to spend the day playing video games (which would probably mean time will pass faster) or just have a regular day of doing nothing in particular. In honesty, I want to make this day drag on for as long as possible because I'm probably going to be trying to sleep at 11pm so that I can get up early to catch my 7:30 bus.

How would/did you guys spend your last day of the summer holidays? Were video games involved?

I think I mostly played a few video games and that, nothing interesting. You'll get used to not being able to game as much and then it wont seem so bad. But I guess you are going from like 5 months or something of doing whatever you please every day to only being able to game at weekends and such.

I'm playing Borderlands mostly at the moment, got the GOTY recently so I'm trying to get all the achievements (again).

We've had nine or more FF threads over the last 30 days. If some of you really want to talk tons about Final Fantasy, we could do with a bit of light in the FF club. Not to say I'm outlawing Final Fantasy threads in the VG forum but if some of you have loads to say, we could build a conversation over there.

Ello ello ello what's all this then?

Well, looks like I did spend a portion of my last day of the summer gaming. Mainly Red Faction Armageddon but I had a game of Black Ops too. Red Faction just isn't doing it for me really. the first game in that series was awesome. Everything after I've found to be pretty naff.

Armageddon wasn't so bad, it just had nothing on Guerrilla, no free roam, shit alien/monsters, guns were a bit more innovative but they still seemed lacking and it was often hard to have 4 guns at once that actually seemed worth having.

The story was also kind of boring but that woman who was your ex or something was pretty hot.

I played Super Mario 64 during my final week away from college. I don't remember if I played it on the last day still at home, since I was either hanging out with friends or packing. Then again, I probably played video games while hanging out with friends, so there you go.

Yeah, I was really disappointed when I realised it wasn't there. I was hoping it would let you free roam after you get to the surface or whatever. Though to be honest free-roaming wouldn't really work because it's all post-apocalyptic and you can't breath outside anymore and shit.

Also would anybody with The Underdome DLC for Borderlands be willing to help me out on the Long Challenges some time in a week or two?

I organized my room and bought shelves and put up a lot of stuff in my room that I've always wanted to. Here's one of many pictures I've taken.

Considering picking up the Dragon Age games since they're pretty cheap on Amazon right now. Origins Ultimate Edition is $27 and Dragon Age 2 is is $20. Then again, Deus Ex: HR is $35, which is good, but I can always wait it out and get it even cheaper later on.

I don't really know much about the Dragon Age games besides the fact that I like Bioware RPGs, and I don't know much about DE:HR besides the fact that it has the same sort of design philosophy towards RPGs. Any opinions on what's the best bet?

That looks pretty sweet. I wish I had the space in my room to have some kind of display set up. All my games are pretty much piled up in a cupboard, hidden away from everyone. Such a shame :(

I got so nervous as soon as I entered that interview room at Gamestation (well it was a staff lounge really), still when they asked me "How do you find out about game news? latest releases? upcoming releases? etc" I was all like "Oh yeah, I well go on Kotaku all the fucking time", not worded like that but I think the fact that I even mentioned a gaming news website will help a fair bit.

How did you get an interview and job? Simply walked in with your cv and handed it in? I've been thinking about maybe getting a job at GAME or gamestation at some point.

When you went to hand in the CV though, how did you go about doing it? Did you browse the store first and then sort of be all like "we'll while I'm here I might as well hand in this CV" or did you just get straight to the point by handing it over and leaving?

I think working in a game store would be pretty cool, although I feel like I know less and less about the current game releases now that I know I'm not going to be able to afford them for a while.

Good luck and all that though.

Ahhh fair does. I may have to go enquire in my local game store to see if they need any extra workers.

Especially with Christmas slowly creeping up.
