Really though, that's great!
Im happy with it too. Im just happy my girlfriend was someone I want to marry, and not some unlucky one night thing. Not that I got many of those ;)
I can't decide whether or not to keep my Mafia II pre-order. I've been waiting years for this game, but I have a feeling now that I might let me down, and I don't exactly have the money to spend on a game that isn't going to be worthwhile.
By pre-ordering I get some bonus content, which is really the only reason I have it on pre-order. Been waiting years for this game, so my expectations of it are probably going to be too high. I suppose if it does turn out to be a waste of money I can always sell it, which I never do to my games, but money is tight.

My advice isn't to pre-order. Most of the chance it's just a rip-off. You can probably get a better deal elsewhere, or at least get it with better bonuses.

From what I've seen, it doesn't even look too good. Everyone seems to be excited about it, and tons of people will buy it. I just think it looks like a blatant GTA with a different story, and being set in 1955. There's nothing too special about it. I'm still going to rent it though.
I take back what I said. I just watched a Dev Diary of Mafia II that looked pretty awesome. Now I'm upset that I have another game to worry about getting. Too much coming out by the end of the year.
Also Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 is now called Batman: Arkham City.

I'm glad they've changed the name. After beating Arkham Asylum the other night, I thought to myself "Why have Arkham Asylum in the title when you'll be in Gotham City?" Arkham City sounds better IMO. I'll have to pre-order the game when it's close to the release date.
Captain! This forum is dieing! Therefore I have returned to bring it back to order!

Jolly good. Grab a life jacket and prepare to set sail. We're sailing towards Intelligent Discussion Land!
First order of business. Revive this thread.
I miss it. :(

I would revive that thread puddin, but alas not even Nintendo cares about their Virtual Console anymore.
Kayne & Lynch 2's multiplayer sounds really fun... but then again, so did the first one's...
Despite my tough exterior, Im a major nerd at heart ;)
Recommend me some good fantasy games!
I agree, revive this mofo. Everyone seems to be scared to just casually converse in here. There is no need to talk about games every single time - we can just mingle ;)
Street Figher IV is still a pain in the a** sometimes. M. Bison is a serious disappointment.
Anyway, can't wait for Scott Pilgrim to come out. It'll be b****in' :)

I didn't play the first but K&L2's multiplayer demo was really fun
I like being able to choose being a loyal criminal or a scheming thief
Naturally I never kill my comrades lest they shoot me first

Why does everyone hate fighting Bison? He only ever does like 3 different moves. I'm more annoyed at the fact that there are like 7 shoto characters.
Ryu
Ken
Akuma
Dan
Gouken (no shoryuken, except ultra/super)
Sakura
Sagat
But yeah anyways, I've been playing valkyria chronicles for the PS3 and Starcraft 2 for PC a lot. I got placed in the second highest league in SC2, but I'm not really able to move up anymore because I am only winning around %50 of my fights.
I'm on the last levels of Valkyria Chronicles, and the Giant Marmota Tank is seriously pissing me off.
On an unrelated note, I really got to go back and finish Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

Oh yes, you have to do this. Both games were, and still are, truly amazing to me. I think I'm going to start on Fallout 3 again later today, possibly later in the week depending on when a friend gets hip copy. Hopefully it might get me in the mood to then go back and play the original Fallout games, which I own but never really gave a fair chance.
I'm wanting to play through Fallout 3 as an evil character this time, really just to get the achievements. I also have the neutral ones to get, but I don't know how to remain neutral when it never really tells you where you are on the karma scale. I'm also a little worried that playing as evil might just bore me, as it makes things so much easier. We'll just have to see how things go I suppose.

That's a damn shame. There was still several games for me to get on VC. However, after finding out how horribly butchered Mega Man 2 is on PAL, I've been reluctant to get ANY games on VC with the exception of Mega Man 3 which happened to have been free due to paying for Internet Channel at the time. I hate how my only options now are to fork out money on eBay or downloading the ROMs and I really want to avoid the latter as much as I can.
So who buys their games from eBay? You can get new releases worth over $100 for like half the price, brand new. Granted you have to wait a week for postage though. I think its a worthwhile compromise. On that note, lately I have been 'bulk buying' a lot of games from eBay. $100 for 10 used games. A lot are shit, and only worthy of storing, but that's still cheap!
Goodbye mainstream game conversation :(

I've done it once or twice, it's definitely a lot cheaper than buying in-store, be it used or new. I mostly game on my PC though, so I tend to get most of my games through Steam.

I got no gripes fighting him; my problem is with PLAYING as him. I fight him a few times in Arcade and he seems cool but then I play him and I can't immediately pull off any of his special moves except the Ultra Combo. Other characters like Cody and Zangief are fun right off the bat to play as but Bison just sucks in the pick-up-and-play factor. I seriously don't look forward to playing as some of the suckier characters in campaign, blegh!

I wouldn't let your disappointment get the better of you. He may not be a 'pick up and play' character, but then again most charge-characters aren't (except maybe Balrog because of his solid normals). Once mastered however, Bison is one of the highest ranked characters in the game. He has some great moves and even I acknowledge as a Zangief player that he's a great fighter and a blast to play as.

Yeah, it would be a pointless task to really pay the same price to get any computer game elsewhere. My days of computer gaming are finished for now, with the recent downfall on my computer. Leaves me feeling pretty bored, as it was my primary machine - now I'm stuck with 12 games on a 360.

I buy a lot of my 360 games from eBay simply because of how good the Aussie dollar is right now. I can usually get a new release title that would be $80-100 in stores here for as little as $60 from the UK. Sure you have to wat a week to get it but I'm never jonesing for a game badly enough that I can't wait.
At 8/10/10 09:50 PM, iCurrie wrote: So who buys their games from eBay?
The only games I buy on eBay are older games. For the newer games, I usually get them from Amazon or the local shops. I don't usually focus on eBay for new games since I remember doing that a few times and there was an endless amount of results for them. Amazon and retail stores are more manageable for me when it comes to new games.

I'd still like it to be put on the record that Americans have still not gotten the chance to download Mayhem in Monsterland (Commodore 64 title) from the Virtual Console.

I know I'm several years late to the party, but I played my first ever Zelda game yesterday. Originally I had planned to play through from the very first game, but I actually started on Ocarina of Time. It's been great fun so far, although I've not progressed too far into the story yet.
I'll probably get around to playing a few Nintendo 64 games over the last month of the summer. So many classic titles that I missed out on because I didn't start gaming properly until the PlayStation days.
If anyone knows of any less known games that they recall being awesome, then let me know. I want to play more than just the highly rated titles. I really wish I got into the N64 earlier now, but OoT is still a great game.

Seriously? That's insane, only just played zelda? OOT is one of the first games I ever played on consoles...
Then again, I suppose I was just a ninty fanboy as a kid. I've never played an FF game more than the first hour or so so yeah.

Sadly, it is true. My first console was the PlayStation, and I never owned any Nintendo consoles all my life. I'm playing these on an emulator, but would like to purchase most, if not all, the Nintendo consoles at some point. I've always meant to play through the Zelda series, and OoT is still impressing me now, even though it is 12 years old.

I was late to the party for playing Zelda games as well. I didn't even play Ocarina of Time until 2007 when I found the Collector's Edition in one GAME shop. I never had a Nintendo 64 back in the day since it was either that or PS1 for me but I'm slowly catching up on what I've missed out but mostly from re-releases for the games such as the Zelda Collector's Edition and VC.
That's why I wanted VC to be more reliable.
I remember playing Paper Mario instead on the Nintendo 64. After having played Paper Mario I then wanted to play Legend of Zelda. I had OOT somewhere, though at some point it disappeared. I never truly experienced Ocarina of Time until getting it back on Virtual Console.
