it was at my school coffeehouse, with a crowd of over 100 (coffehouses are a big deal where I come from). unfourtunatly, crushing stage fright set in and my meticulousy practised set turned to shit. watch as I stumble through solos, out of time rythms, and a lackluster crowd of highschoolers.
(also, buckethead costume)

First time I played live I was 4 years old and participating in my first piano recital. I'm pretty sure that Newgrounders probably care as much about my first recital, as they do your first coffee house jamfest.
In short, post this in your profile blog, or in the audio advertisements thread.

I organize and host events like this once every month or so. Great fun! I like the kid shouting out "DO IRON MAN"

That's my performance full of mistakes, haha. The best way to deal with stage fright I've found is to constantly put yourself in performing situations, and after a while it becomes easier.
nice man.. thro it in the thread in my sig.. you know.. just for documentation purposes. :3
I thought I was in the Video Games forum for a second there. And though you meant on the 360 :|
Good stuff though. I woulda pretty much cacked my dacks.
The best advice i ever got re: playing live is 'Don't ever stop'
I was trying really hard not too, but I kept hitting a button that changed the sound to a harpsichord, haha. The thing about performing is if there are any other people involved, stopping is not an option. And when you're by yourself it really kills the mood. I would agree with that advice wholeheartedly.
No doubt you or someone else in here is going to take this the wrong way, but hear me out... Dressing up as buckethead and playing a "gig" is usually a bad idea unless you are shred capable. I don't mean shredding buckethead type stuff...
Ah hell, I'll just outright say it... I wouldn't dress up like buckethead to play stuff most people can play after 1-2 months of playing guitar.
I mean that in as little of an asshole way as possible.
That said, bring on the defensive outcries. And kudos on your first performance, keep going at it.

I was going to say this, but i wouldn't have avoided being an asshole.
Dressing as buckethead suggests something that you just didn't deliver.
Well, I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking it... Generally, you see the bucket, the mask, and the yellow rain jacket and you instantly think "guitar god"... Seeing stuff like this just makes me die a little inside knowing bucketheads image was plastered on it.
But I get it, you have stage fright issues... covering your face is a good way to get over it... but be original, don't give people the impression you're up to bucketheads caliber.
Just saying..
