Actionscript is programming...

So why can't it be a legitimate discussion in the programming boards? So can somebody tell me why Actionscript is supposed to be in the flash forum except for the fact that it's a language solely for the purpose of flash?

I guess it's because if they would let you use the programming and flash forum for actionscript, people would use both and everybody would get confused etc. So you can use only one of them, and that's the flash forum for the reason you stated

because people who program in actionscript go to the flash forum. this is a general programming forum. where would you rather direct your actionscript question- to a forum of actionscript programmers or miscellaneous programmers?

The real reason is because we have quality standards here. What we ridicule and don't act very nice too is sadly norm over in the Flash forum. Or in other words: we don't want people who are just going to copy paste code.
