Ok, I've made a preloader for someone in AS2 and all is fine and good. I need to have an AS3 version by tomorrow, and it's looking quite unlikely at the moment. Anyway, I think I have pretty much implemented all the preloader type stuff which I basically robbed from the newgrounds AS3 preloader, and then re-modified it all to be in the same theme as the one I had made previously. Unfortunately, this is paid work and I can't really show it to people.

My first issue is that I have placed "stop();" on various frames, and most of them don't seem to work at all. These stop frames are placed in the middle of movie clips and one at the end to stop the animated logo from looping, and just playing once. But it still loops anyway. Anyway, I'm very confused and was wondering if anyone can help. I realise it's difficult without being able to see that actual thing.

That happens to me as well, just use AS2 because I can never get any actions to work in AS3

I made it in AS2 fine, but my client needs an AS3 version also, so I need to get it working somehow. I'm just going to sit down and look through all the code to see if anything could be upsetting it.

Ok, updated problem. Turns out it was a spelling mistake causing the preloader issue. The only problem now is that it doesn't actually preload at all. All the stops are working and things like that, but not the preloader itself...

Stop exporting things before the preloader then!

That's not always the case, but,
Oggy, do you have any classes that you're exporting from the library?
If you aren't sure, then you probably don't.

But what I do if I don't really feel like coding a preloader
is download one of the NG ones, copy/paste the code*,
and adjust it to fit my preloader.

*Note, I don't ever advise copying/pasting any other time.

So pat yourself on the back, I'll let you get away with it this once...

The exception being having a big preloader itself. But that's fairly hard to do by accident.

Sorry to waste your time, guys. It was working after all. It's just it had nothing to load, I stuck a few large images on the scene after it and uploaded it to my site and it loads ok, there's a few seconds of blank white at the start but nevermind. Thanks for the help anyway, guys!
