AAH i went to yellow stone last week and i went calm water rafting. after a while it starts to get warm and as a joke my brother pushed me in, my shirt was soaked and the water was freaking cold and there was a breeze so i took my shirt off.

I went and laid down on the middle of the raft waiting to get dry, my frontal area was dry so i flipped over on my stomach and i fell asleep for two hours... i now have THE worst sun burn i have ever had in my entire life.

this was like two days ago but it hurts twice as bad as it did then and now it's ITCHY! so if anyone was any suggestions besides Aloe Vera please do tell.

Wet, cold Aloe Vera extract poured on your back, giving it the cooling refreshness.

I find it interesting that humans can practically sleep right through literally getting burnt.

I got nothing as far as sun burn tips, I don't really leave the house.

In response to your call of distress... we're the best.

Ouch, I hate sunburns.

Then again, that's why I stay inside all the time, to avoid them. ><

Respect, it's what I do...Then again, so is UberCream's job.

I remember my friend freaking out as a kid because he had a really bad sunburn so she took a loaf of bread out of the freezer and applied it to the burnt spot. Helped relieve the itchiness and all.

Benadryl tablets apparently will stop the itching, I don't know though. It happened to me on holiday and it itched so much it hurt, just don't scratch it or it will get worse. I think you should have long cool showers then applying aloe vera and allow it to soak in, that's what I did :3

Poor vinegar over the sunburn. It stings for a minute or two, but it actually helps heal the sunburn faster.

Don't know why. I'll ask my chemistry teacher next semester.

I actually tried that it made it itch even more and nothing happened besides it didn't hurt to the touch for five mins.

try putting anti-itch morturizer in the fridge to chill it, then putting it on the sunburn.

History is made.

1. The biggest mistake you can make is to apply any kind of soothing cream before you first cool down the affected area. This will simply trap in the heat. The burning will continue, and you will suffer even more. Cool down the skin with ice or a cold wetted towel first, or lie in a very cold bath, or stand in a cold shower for at least five minutes.

2. White vinegar in a solution of two parts cold water to one part vinegar can work wonders. Soak a cloth in the solution and press it gently onto the burned area. You should never rub it in as this will make matters worse. Just dab in on gently, then leave the skin to dry. Aloe vera can be gently applied to the skin as a follow-up. Do this twice a day until you heal.

3. While aloe vera gel works well to relieve sunburn, some lotions contain alcohol. This will dry out the skin and tend to retain the heat, so any alcohol-based lotions or creams are best avoided.

Let the burn go down without using anything on it.
Putting something like moistureiser on it before the burn goes away will only keep the heat in, and agrivate it further.
Just wait for the burn to go away.

.Learn by heart the greater part of them, lest they be altered.

That must be terrible! I got a bad sunburn on my arms this year and it hurt badly.
I found that using mint extract mixed with some aloe vera and hand cream worked to temporarily relieve the pain . . .
Also, brew some tea (especially mint or something like that) and get it cold. Soak some rags in it and apply it to the burn or just spray it on the area.
This method did work alright, but I had to do it several times a day and it got a bit messy . . .

My sister tried using baking soda and water (let it air dry on your arms) and then later the vinegar method SlowFade101 and AnonymousAlchemist suggested.
She said they worked pretty well too.

Hope you feel better !

well, just stay inside, and lay on your stomach for most of the time. Ask others to pull cold towels on your back, and stuff. Lay there... If you lay down, you dont feel it much, and after a while, it just starts to feel nice and toasty...

Poozy RAGE. Also, This.
