Well, I've seen the schools in California, and although she is being racist, I think she may have a point. It's fucking scary as hell in a California high school, because the majority of minorities there are gang members/violent stoners/etc. I'm not trying to be racist or anything, but a "proper" (by this, I mean a non-gang member/druggie/etc, basically the perfect student) white person (or, anyone for that manner) usually have a difficult time there.
Also, knowing that other students are packing heat isn't a comforting thought. Now, where I go, is a hell of a better school. I think there's about a 35% minority population at my high school, but most of them are respectable students and are serious about their futures. Only about 10% of the total school population (that means not just the minorities) is that kind of student where you know they are going to end up at McDonald's 30 years from now as a cashier.
Tl;dr California high schools are scary as hell, but that's no reason to be racist.
