Hitler wasn't a christian, in fact, one of his stated goals was the destruction of Christianity in Germany. What he actually was is unknown, there is a lot unknown about that man.

On that note, I love the idea people have that Atheists are like a new religion, trying to recruit. There's no 'Church of Atheism' folks - just accept a whole bunch of people decided not to believe and move on.

I've noticed a few of you have been posting a list (long or short) of people who were religious and did horrible things to people, and atheists who did horrible things to people (I'm just gonna ignore that Hitler probably wasn't an atheist). It needs to be said that none of the people in the atheist list did anything in the name of atheism. They never killed 6 million Jews because they weren't atheist. Some of the people on the list of religious ne'er-do-wells can be removed for the same reason; they never did their horrible crimes BECAUSE they were religious, although it seems alot of religious people DO do bad stuff in the name of their bloodthirsty desert gods. I've never met personally an atheist who actually wanted to force their lack of beliefs down someones throat (although there are some that are quick to debate), but it's whatever. Also, about the "you can't prove it doesn't exist" thing: Just because you can't disprove something's existence doesn't mean it's logical to believe in it in the first place - See Flying Spaghetti Monster, Invisible Pink Unicorn, Celestial Teapot, God.
