I find it rather interesting that they go on for three pages without giving any reason not to believe in God other than saying how nice and wonderful Atheists are, and how God isn't real.

I maintain the position that atheism vs theism arguments are some of the most useless arguments one can have. That's why people write these things.
No one can prove that god exists or doesn't exist. End of story.

Believe whatever you want to believe in.
Also, one idiot doesn't define an entire group of people.

Why don't you just like sum up everything you believe real quick in a paragraph or two and we'll all judge wether or not you're a closed minded individual. That sounds like fun to me.

How is that close minded?
Find me a way to prove that some sort of theistic being exists or doesn't exist and I will change my mind. But, until that happens, I'll keep my opinion.

That's not at all close-minded, it's a fact. There is no definite proof that God exists, just like there is no definite proof that he doesn't exist. I choose to believe that he doesn't, but that's a personal choice. I love the fact that people are free to believe whatever they want to believe.

I am an Omnist, a believer in all Religions, because I have no idea which if any are correct, all that can be certain is there is at least one God.

Exactly. You can prove the big bang, but you can't disprove a higher power. You can do all the testing that you want of phenomenon, but as of right now - though science may progress and change that fact - there's no way to prove there is a god.

I think that's a pretty realistic belief.
One thing I can't stand is when people believe that their belief is the absolute truth. Chances are, every one of us is most likely at least a little be wrong. My beliefs are probably a bit wrong.
I'm open to discussion about the topic of spirituality and the "big questions," but the problem is that they always turn into flamewars. They always turn into people saying, in short, "I'M RIGHT. YOU'RE WRONG. YOU'RE AN IDIOT IF YOU DISAGREE."

Not all atheists force their beliefs on other people just like not all theists force their beliefs on others.

Thats not a religion of any kind. It's not even a theology. It's like a single philisophical belief. You might as well be an atheist. Hell being as you have no theistic ties to speak of you actually are an a-theist.

Religion, Christianity in particular, grew in strength in a period when people assumed diseases were caused by 'evil spirits'

Bullshit, your acting like all athiests are like that, when they're not. People just choose to find the worst of us, while some Athiests are dicks and point out the worst of the Christian religion.

Basically, those who are religious are fucking insane.
"OH YEAH WE BELIEVE IN A MAGICAL MAN IN THE SKY WHO IF WE ACCEPT INTO OUR HEARTS WILL FIX ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS."
It's impossible to disprove or prove the existence of god, and really, there never will be a way, while god-nuts are busy praying for a cure, science is actually doing something about it. And, science just causes too many problems.
The crusades anyone?
Don't forget the guy who prayed for a sickness to her daughter instead of taking her to a hospital? What happened? She died. Where the fuck is your god now? Not caring about you, that's what. And, lastly, how's about a quote?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?
"Sir, we are surrounded!"
"Excellent, we can attack in any direction!"

And my point is that it's all just words. When it comes to God people believe all sorts of whacky shit, being an atheist or a christian or whatever you are doesn't matter. It doesn't dictate your personality, and it's not a big deal. When we sit around and argue about it we're usually just arguing with ourselves. We're fighting with ourselves to truely evaluate ideas that we find different, conflicting, or scary. And thats why we hate on one anothers ultimately worthless beliefs, because we're scared of believing them.
I'm high.

About my above post, I mean "Religion" causes too many problems, not science.
But really, if there were to be an end to the world, it would be because of religion. Like, some huge war over which fake-god is better.

Did you really just suggest that most of the people on Earth are insane?
"OH YEAH WE BELIEVE IN A MAGICAL MAN IN THE SKY WHO IF WE ACCEPT INTO OUR HEARTS WILL FIX ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS."
That is your only real proof, a bastardized definition of God, filled with lies and an obvious lack of knowledge on the subject.
It's impossible to disprove or prove the existence of god, and really, there never will be a way, while god-nuts are busy praying for a cure, science is actually doing something about it. And, science just causes too many problems.
Praying is stupid, but God is real.

God doesn't intervene with Earthly affairs, this is obvious.
