petition to edit the site

I want to start a petition to change the site so that you can only post a new thread after you have 500+ posts.
This change will:
-Make trolling much harder for trolls
-Ensure that alot of the new topics are not complete spam.
-Eliminate 'Hi I'm new' threads
-Greatly reduce the same thread being remade every week (zombie threads, I hate _____)
-Threads asking really dumb questions

Yes, mostly. The hi im new shouldn't be eliminated it would confuse people, and noobs have to ask really dumb question most of the time. Even though im one myself.

Stupid idea. Lots of people's first posts in the other forums seem to play out fine, and a lot of the topics with people needing help are done typically by people with low post counts.

I often see people with 2k or higher posts making more spam threads- and they get away with it.

Not every thread made by a new user is necessarily bad. Maybe they have unanswered questions or they honestly have a topic worthy of discussion. Who are you to say what is and is not allowed to be posted?

Besides, petitions don't do shit. I have as much of a say in this as you do.

And I vote that andycastaneda isn't allowed to make threads or post anymore. Period.

All that would do is encourage spam posts within existing topics. Users would be racing to get 500 posts as quickly as possible, and what you'd have is users with 500 posts making the same spam topics as are being made now. Post count does not equal maturity.

This sounds like a better idea. This way, users will quickly be able to gain experience on the boards, and it can help stop the flood of spam that we get on certain nights by no-name accounts.
