I got one about a year ago, through a small shop that was selling them. They not illegal to own in the United States, but will be taken away by the authorities if they ever see you with one, it's stupid.

It's illegal for other countries to import then into the United States though, which is essentially why they're 'illegal', because getting one is hard to come by. You have to just look and call places, random places; anything.
