Religious people should know better than anyone that praying is not a fucking magic trick. If there were in fact a God who gave us everything we ever prayed for, we would all be sexy immortal millionaires. Oh, but of course, no one really believes that God answers every single prayer. However, if that's the case, and if there's even the slightest chance that the prayer will not be answered, then the parents shouldn't have risked their daughter's life.
Choosing to "pray" for a sick little girl instead of taking her to a hospital is like praying that you'll get into a good college rather than sending an application. Oh, wow, you weren't accepted? I wonder why.
