I don't think what he did was wrong...he obviously has faith and thinks he was helping.
A bit depressing.

I used to pray, but when my problems didn't get better, I said fuck it.

Prayer is BS.

Guys I think you're all missing the big picture here. Fucking God himself took her to fucking heaven! Thanks to his efforts she will now enjoy super awesome angel powers, a chance to meet up with everyone who has ever lived (perhaps even her late gerbil depending on her denomination), virgins waving big-ass palm leaves, the whole shebang! Worked? I think so!

Case in point: she doesn't have diabetes anymore, LOL!

Are you serious? "It's not his fault he's fucking stupid, even if his daughter died because of his stupidity." That's what you're saying, if we add a tablespoon of my biased opinion.

Ignorance is never an excuse. "I didn't know sinking knives in the thorax of people was illegal, it's not my fault, I never read the laws."

Oh man the guy must be borderline suicidal if not all the way now. But he probably won't kill himself because its against his religion.

The inmates might kill him if they find out though.

I hate when people think that praying will help everything and everyone. It won't. God wants you to fix your own problems. Yes, if you pray he'll help, but I think he wants you to do things on your own sometimes.

Interesting stuff.

I think its sad that people believe that prayer can help in this day in age. It is at best a placebo.

Maybe he was praying that the medical help would automatically know and seek for help?

opinions of creation is not the same as all-out stupidity or ignorance. on the other hand, downgrading someone simply because you disagree with their beliefs. is both narrow-minded and ignorant... while prayer was a terrible idea when you clearly have more assured ways of saving someone, but that gives no means to use against an entire religion simply out of blind hatred. accept the fact that people are free to believe whatever they want, you childish fool...

Religious people should know better than anyone that praying is not a fucking magic trick. If there were in fact a God who gave us everything we ever prayed for, we would all be sexy immortal millionaires. Oh, but of course, no one really believes that God answers every single prayer. However, if that's the case, and if there's even the slightest chance that the prayer will not be answered, then the parents shouldn't have risked their daughter's life.

Choosing to "pray" for a sick little girl instead of taking her to a hospital is like praying that you'll get into a good college rather than sending an application. Oh, wow, you weren't accepted? I wonder why.

You'd think so, but then why do they do it all the time?

What I don't understand is how people can expect prayer to work in some way, but if you ask them 'why is there so much bad shit in the world' they say it's because god doesn't interfere with what's going on on earth. Well if god doesn't interfere with all the misery and violence and starvation and oppression going on all over the place, what makes anyone think praying is going to work just for them?

Your sarcasm brings up a good point, actually. Was the guy praying to save his daughter's life? Or was he praying that she would get into heaven when she inevitably died? If it's the latter, they really should have charged the fucker with premeditated murder.

Indeed. People have a right as laid out in the First Amendment to practice their religion without persecution, even if it means eschewing mainstream objects like healthcare.
Of course, that right went to hell in a handbasket with the foundation of the Mormon church, right? *rolls eyes*

40% of people from that poll lack the common sense to figure out at least through experiment that really really wanting something can't make it so, yet are alive to tell us (and continue to breed). It was sort of an ironic exaggeration though.
