Spam Purgatory 2009-07-31 12:20:01 Reply

Was on this other thread about whistling crew spam and I had this idea. Maybe it's been thought of before.

What if there was a different whistle for spam that didn't take it off, but rather moved it to a different section (a kind of purgatory) so the retards that actually like it don't cry.

And from there the blamming process can continue if people don't like it.

That way the people that come here to see the good, actual, original work that's on here don't have to see so much spam intermingled with it.

I know there's some of you that are just gonna say Vote 0 on the spam, I do.

Well to me all the spam is a waste of bandwidth.

But apparently some don't agree.

There's the easier option of just not watching it: it's so obvious which ones are spam and which aren't you can effectively avoid them without really trying. If you're really so worried about some stupid names appearing in the flash list, then honestly, you deserve to be trolled by it for being so damn easy to annoy. It's just a list of flashes; Wade gets rid of the abusive stuff anyway; get over it.

Wade deletes more spam daily than you vote five out of pity on. It doesn't really matter.

Ignoring spam is the same as doing nothing. I'm trying to constructively think of a way to get rid of it.

Vote zero. Don't write reviews politely asking the author to stop, don't make news posts telling everyone not to watch flashes made by that author, don't tell people to mass blam them, because that's considered attacking other users. JUST VOTE ZERO WHEN IT'S UNDER JUDGMENT.

It's easy but it wastes precious bandwidth and storage space that the newgrounds servers could put to better use.
