i was thinking.. since the US is in debt, why not just make drugs legal, charge fucktons of money for 'em and tax the fucking hell out of it? in under a year there would be at LEAST $5 Billion dollars because of all the potheads. not saying drugs are good, but i am saying the US can get out of debt with it.

discuss?

Well we could, but then there'd be a shit load of people against it, and eventually it would go to court to make drugs illegal again. But it's still a good idea.

Shut up already.

Drgs are legal.

Coffee, medication, soda, all other things with caffeine in them, they're all legal.

You do know that's basically against the Constitution and is morally wrong anyway.

If drugs were as expensive as that, there would still be a black market for them. Just like pirated DVDs and software. People who don't want to pay the money to buy them legally will always buy them illegally.

Since when does the US not care about it looking superior?

Caffeine is the farthest thing from an actual drug, calling it one is just stupid.

We already have the abuse of Alcohol, Cigarettes, and drugs are already being used. Do we really need to let the rate of deaths of car accidents increase? Legalizing drugs would be the stupidest decision the U.S. would make this year.

Yeah, that's a good plan dude. Let's get all of America hooked on crack, meth, heroine etc. and then yank it away from them after we've gotten out of debt.

He doesn't mean drugs dumbass he means legalizing something for tax money then making it illegal once we're out of debt. Which is wuite morally wrong.

I knew what he meant..

i dont know if over all it will work because, if the whole planet can buy heroin at the gas station, theres going to be alot of people calling into work th next day.

with pot, yes, that should be legallized, as well as hash, and you know, maybe even opium.

what this will do, firstly is save money on the war against drugs, they will no longer have to fight 3 major drugs, and, this will also slow down sales of other drugs, if you can buy opium legally...you might not be cruising around looking for people to front you vicadin, you know what i mean?

This would cause the govt. to make money fast and then it'll cool down.

even if it is legal it won't do much for revenue due to people still buying if off the black market because they avoid the high taxation.

The BBS here is pretty bad as it is already, could you imagine what it would be like if the mods decide to stop doing their job? It would get pretty messy around here, and the BBS would probably have to be shut down. Apply the same logic to the United States as a whole. It's bad enough already as it is. We need no further corruption. Again, freedom without discipline is anarchy. And if there's anyone here who can understand that, it's the moderators.
