Possibly one of the greatest things ever.
Do you like concept albums? What are your favorite ones?

Of course, I love The Wall by Pink Floyd.
Also Metropolis PT2 - Scenes from a Memory by Dream Theater.

Of course, Pink Floyd records. Nearly all of their Roger Waters albums were concept albums, my favourite being Meddle.

The Who's Tommy
Pink Floyd's The Wall
Iced Earth's Dark Saga(I mostly like it because it's about Spawn)

Wow, I was actually hoping you would mention Dream Theater in that Greatest Band Ever thread, but when you didn't, I assumed it was just a coincidence. Listening to it right now actually ^_^

Nice, beat me to it, that's probably one of my favorite concept albums. Most Opeth albums are concept but I especially love My Arms, Your Hearse the most. I also think some Muse and Porcupine Tree are concept albums as well, but I'm not so sure.

Lets see

All of Pink Floyd's concept albums (DSOTM, The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Final Cut)
Tarkus by ELP

Those are really the only ones I know of off of the top of my head.

Someone beat me to the DT reference, and I don't like copying, so I mentioned Steve Vai...who can do virtually everything.

AnitChrist Superstar and Holy Wood by Marilyn Manson. I didn't really like Mechanical Animals, at least, the story, which just stole David Bowie's.

This is a good one.

Then there's Three Friends by Gentle Giant, Lumpy Gravy by Frank Zappa, We're Only In It For The Money by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull, and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars by David Bowie. Some of these may not be considered to be strictly concept albums, but they're concept albums in my opinion.

I don't think I've ever listened to a concept album.

Like, an album with a storyline within the lyrics.

But if the album is built around a concept, then OK Computer hands down.

1 Album, 2 Songs, 45 Minutes of pure unadulterated Genius. Or better know as Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull.

Maybe later.....

I don't really think I have any. The only thing that comes close that hasn't already been mentioned is Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, but Coyne said that he wasn't trying to make a concept album. I guess it still kind of counts because it has a story.

Sure I get all the other songs deal with addiction and drugs, cool.

But how the fuck does 'Pet' fit into the scheme of 'drugs and addiction'. Unless it's a power addiction, maybe.
