Or maybe it comes from where I say that your attitude and arguments make you come off as such. Or maybe it comes from the fact that you classify all Americans in such a way regardless of any other variable involved. Your views are very superficial on this subject, and unless youre being sarcastic, youre acting like an asshole.

Ever pause to think I'm classifying the fucking stupid ones and the whiny ones? They're usually the same, anyway, and tend to get so hung up on details they declare some kind of war of words in order to defend themselves, not realising just how damn stupid they look. Because they use the same base argument - "Stop classifying us all as one." Then again, there's about five base arguments (sidestepping the usual abuse, which is even more narrowed down and predictible) which crop up.

At this point, you should say something like "Is that because you make the same stupid comments?"

How many people do you associate with, face to face, on a regular basis, that are from the United States? And I would love to hear this theory as well.

About as many that want to get on a plane, without thinking they'll be a "terrorist statistic" - just had to get that one in.

How many? Depends how many are lurking around London (and why is it usually the most annoyingly stupid ones you send over?) - as for associating with - I take it you won't count message boards, right? Shame - that's associating, albeit frequently similar to associating with a brick wall.

And that is different from this forum? I could say the same about you regarding the issue of "shooting down anything that doesnt subscribe to [your] 'rhetorical bullshit'." A lot of the people on here are the same way except that they probably share a lot of your political views. So, let me guess: if you disagree, its "rhetorical bullshit," and if you agree it is perfect and airtight logic, right?

Yes, because I regularly man the parapit to defend the UK from attacks by Liberal Scum...

No, rhetorical bullshit is things such as...YOU STATING THAT I LUMP ALL AMERICANS INTO ONE GROUP, REGARDLESS OF FACT. it looks good on paper when you're trying to paint a certain picture of somebody, though. It contains rehetoric, it's bullshit - rhetorical bullshit.

Besides, how many people on this board are aware of international politics that don't explicitly involve the US? Not that many, barring people of those countries (ie, myself and BCC for the UK).

Yes, there is, and im one of them. But im sure that youll probably disregard everything that I say because, heavens no! my political views differ from yours. Does that imply that im obviously wrong, irrational, and brainwashed thus nothing I say logical? Im curious about something, so let me ask: did you go to college? Where, and for what?

No, I'm disregarding it as you've shown me that you're just another reactionary, desperate to defend your nation from attack. Not a physical one, of course.

COuld you please stop griping like a child - and subscribing to...guess what? it's whether you're doing it consciously or not that's the issue by now, or whether you want to save face.

Of course they do; its called a stereotype. You cannot classify the whole by the actions/opinions of a few. You ought to stop being so superficial.

There's a difference between "a few" and "many" - and you ought to stop throwing in as many buzzwords as humanly possible. By the way, want to keep on track, or keep with personal insults?

Take for example the picture below. Now, should I assume that you are ignorant because you do not know what it means? Should I furthermore insist that you are illogical because you do not know what this is used for? It is logical, quite logical. Most people have no idea what this is, so does that imply that most people are illogical and ignorant?

It's used for desperate measures? It's used to show how craply educated you are? It's used to show how much time you spend on the internet searching for some scrap to back you up? Come on - I'm into subtexts here, which is more logical than "What is this?" - there are many answers to that question to be considered. Cold logic never works. Especially if you use Freud - he was full of shit.

Everyone is not a Political Science Major, okay? Many of the people you meet on these forums have no clue about some of the things they talk about once you really get into it. A lot of the things said here are views and opinions, and on top of that, a lot of these views are very superficial because the issues are much more complex than people realize.

Especially Bush.

That was a tad cheap, wasn't it?

You were trying to classify all Americans this way, and now youre changing your mind. And getting hung up on details? When youre on a BBS you have to be precise because the communication, or lack thereof, is given by what you write, and only by what you write. Also, you look stupid when your logic is stupid; you dont look stupid by reading what the other person said in a presice manner. And the base arguments...whatever. If the argument calls for it, and is justified, then it is relivant. If it has no relation to the argument, then yes, it is worthless but in this case its basically what started this entire pissing match.

At this point, you should say something like "Is that because you make the same stupid comments?"

You know, isnt it ironic that you talk shit about the other person (me) and then say that they shouldnt be talking shit? Dont make such an assumption. And this right here is irrelivant, so why even add it after preaching about illogical arguments? What purpose did that serve?

The message boards are different because you dont actually get to know the person. I talk to a lot of people on here, but I still dont know them well enough to actually judge them in "real life." As for the people that youve met in London, fine, maybe most of them were boarderline retarded, but that doesnt imply that we all are. Its just that I really do not enjoy it when people classify groups as a whole; its more or less a pet peeve actually.

Well, you did say that, and it is what we were originally arguing about, so how can it be rhetorical? And if youre implying that I say nothing but rhetorical bullshit, the same could easily go for you as well; this isnt an attack on you...its just that im asking you questions, and youre doing the same except that you enjoy adding in assumptions and what-have-you.

No, I'm disregarding it as you've shown me that you're just another reactionary, desperate to defend your nation from attack. Not a physical one, of course.

Im a "reactionary" huh? Youre kidding me, right? Lets see...who on here does not react to things that others say and do? Im not desperate either; I disagreed with what you said, and im asking why you feel that way...how is that unjustified?

COuld you please stop griping like a child - and subscribing to...guess what? it's whether you're doing it consciously or not that's the issue by now, or whether you want to save face.

Look, im not the one "griping like a child" here, okay? As I just said, I disagreed with what you said, and I wanted you to explain your line of reasoning in. You say that im bitching/crying/complaining, and that is simply your assumption. How about cutting this shit out; im sick of hearing you assume such things because they are irrelivant, and childish as well (although you refer to me as the child).

There's a difference between "a few" and "many" - and you ought to stop throwing in as many buzzwords as humanly possible. By the way, want to keep on track, or keep with personal insults?

Really, is that so? Many, when talking about the citizens of the United States would probably equate to a million of so because "many" is more or less a percentage of the whole. And buzzwords? What buzzwords? Where in the hell are you getting that from, and why do you even bother throwing that out?

It's used for desperate measures? It's used to show how craply educated you are? It's used to show how much time you spend on the internet searching for some scrap to back you up? Come on - I'm into subtexts here, which is more logical than "What is this?" - there are many answers to that question to be considered. Cold logic never works. Especially if you use Freud - he was full of shit.

No, its not used for desperate messures; its used to explain my point which you seem to have missed. And "its used to show how craply educated [I am]"...WOW, GOOD COMEBACK! Please, will you cut out all the childish remarks if you want to say that im being childish?! And I didnt spend time on the internet searching for it; I thought of an example and did the ole cut and paste which took all of a minute.

Look, this little pissing match is seriously going off on a tangent. The whole point was that I disagreed when you implied that all Americans are irrational, or more so than other nationalities. Please, if you want me to continue responding, get to the point as quickly as you can because I hate responding to all sorts of things that have little or nothing to do with the actual argument.

Was I? Really? Are you 100%, abolutlely sure of this? Or are you just tossing in the usual unfounded bullshit as a basis for an argument? I tell you what, if my logic's supposed to be stupid, you managed to make yourself look like an ignorant redneck.

Besides, what started this "pissing match" is your ego - plain and simple.

You know, isnt it ironic that you talk shit about the other person (me) and then say that they shouldnt be talking shit? Dont make such an assumption. And this right here is irrelivant, so why even add it after preaching about illogical arguments? What purpose did that serve?

You missed the word "bull" there.

As for making illogical arguments - Christ, this is getting so damn easy it's humourous. Talking shit? Just repeat 76 times that I group all Americans as ignorant, uneducated rednecks, and wonder where I became so apathetic to what you're saying.

The message boards are different because you dont actually get to know the person. I talk to a lot of people on here, but I still dont know them well enough to actually judge them in "real life." Its just that I really do not enjoy it when people classify groups as a whole; its more or less a pet peeve actually.

I say you do get to know people by their habits. If they leap onto a typo, stating they have an intellect lower than the average roadkill, you can guess they're an idiot. If they flame to divert attention, you can guess they're incapable of formulating argument. If they expend half the memory of NG trying to save face, you can guess that they're trying to avoid accepting a few home truths.

Now, do you want me to start talking about the times I've been to the US - getting ID'd for a NA beer in South Carolina? The fact New Yorkers all seem to think you're some carnival attraction to be barged into, if they pay attention to the fact you're there (the amount of times I've been stranded on the subway when they barge through the gates for 15 minutes a pop - and that means the whole system - is not worth remembereing), and Florida doesn't seem to have a local population? Seriously, the closest I met in Florida (either time) was Virginia...

Do the words "sanctimonious bastard" have no connotations of an attack? In which parrellel universe, exactly? You start with abuse, then the passive aggressive routine. Textbook, really.

Im a "reactionary" huh? Youre kidding me, right? Lets see...who on here does not react to things that others say and do? Im not desperate either; I disagreed with what you said, and im asking why you feel that way...how is that unjustified?

Who's bleating about me wanting to round Americans up into one ball, and spit on them? Where did you get your information from, anyway? Did Alastair Campbell help you with presentation? What's unjustified is the fact you just drag on and on, going nowhere, and making no points WHATSOEVER. Biased, unsubstantiated crap to make me seem the bad guy, on the other hand...

Sounding like I spilled your pint also doesn't paint you as a reactionary. Oh no, sure, it doesn't...

Look, im not the one "griping like a child" here, okay? As I just said, I disagreed with what you said, and I wanted you to explain your line of reasoning in. You say that im bitching/crying/complaining, and that is simply your assumption.

"It's not me, it's you."

How many times can i read this line in one post, pray tell? You go and assume, and wonder why I'm not standing for it for a second? It's predictible and boring, and so, so COMMON.

Really, is that so? Many, when talking about the citizens of the United States would probably equate to a million of so because "many" is more or less a percentage of the whole. And buzzwords? What buzzwords? Where in the hell are you getting that from, and why do you even bother throwing that out?

Sorry, keep the table in the position it is currently resting, because I'm not letting you off that cheaply. "Ironic." "Asumption." "Hypocrite." "Implying."

Buzzwords for the usual passive aggressive assault of mediocrity. And as for falling back to "heavens no! My politican views differ from yours" - have you been reading a textbook? That's subconscious, reactionary desperation there. When you try and deflect, that's the problem.

Wow, you really sound like a spiteful n00b. You want me to cut out childish remarks, while you act like some high and mighty saviour of all that is good and pure about America? Pfft - so be it, be wrong.

And at which point did I say "all"? That's your basis of an argument, and it's unfounded - well done. Pillock.

D2K, think what you want. I have better things to do than argue with someone on the internet who has no idea who I am. Between school, work, and my transfer applications nearing their deadlines, I dont have time for this anyomre. I assume that youll think that youve won something now, but I could care less.

You never answered my question about your education either.

As opposed to mine - trust me, getting a film off the ground takes a lot of work. Start with the script, then argue with people about phrasing, leap around the room to get across what shots you want (eat a lot of protein the night before), get a crew together, get funding (which has now been ever so slightly hamstrung by the Inland Revenue), cast, shoot, edit...

Then there's remembering I've got a girlfriend to take good care of, and balancing that with various bits & bobs at home. Still, thank Christ I handed in my (18,000 word) Dissertation a month ago, otherwise I'd be speaking Dutch right now.

Assume I won? OK - break it down to that level. Try an work out why I make it hell, because you base an argument on nothing, and expand it from there. That tends to get me pissed off, especially after two weeks of it.

And I want my money, bitch!!!

You never answered my question about your education either.

What, you mean the Masters Degree? Or the six years of study that included:
* News and its construction
* History of media industries (and how the Government has bullied the BBC from Day One)
* Audience perception
* Psychology and analysis
* Fearmongering

Trace the themes through my post history.

From the sound of talk in here, you'd almost think that possessing a degree is some sort of intelligence qualifier.

It depends on the degree and also which school you get it from. For example, Im a business major and so an MBA or MaCC is what you would work for if you want a masters degree. At the University of Michigan it is a two year program, and they will not accept you until youve worked for 3-5 years as a postgrad. You find that this is common at most high level schools.
