is it just me or does it seem that people who use that symbol alot tend to be brain dead idiots? espicially if they do it to their own joke.

I don't like the simple ":)" because no-one's eyes are that close to their mouths. There should be a space or something to make it ": )" or ":-)".

It probably stems from the fact that the only time I ever see those emoticons used is when typing with anime freaks. The only time I ever see it in a concentrated area is the deviantart community. X's for eyes...psh leave that to South Park, not mah emoticons!

XD is only annoying if it's coupled with an old meme and several misspellings. I use it a lot, but I'm not a complete idiot... yet.
