Newgrounds Sneakers.

Now I've been thinking of doing something like this for a while now, but I've never really had the chance or the funds to do so. In fact, I messaged TomFulp about this in October of 2007, and he swiftly replied. All he asked is if the sneakers would be clean, I said of course! They would be new!

2 years later and I'm back onto the idea, and considering my skills in flash, I'm still looking for something to do around here.

Anyway, I was thinking of getting a pair of plain white, Adidas Originals :link: and customizing the main display areas with characters from newgrounds.

It's a bit strange I know, And I doubt anyone would walk down the street with them.

so what are we thinking, If I uploaded a few designs would anyone be intrigued by the idea?

You should make sure to make the design simple enough so it doesn't look cluttered. I would recommend Sunrays from the area at the sole of the shoe near the ankles, and a Steve head on the toe of each.

Oh! True NG style, I like it!

The only problem is with dark materials, such as leather, is that unless your using pretty expensive printing products they are virtually impossible to customize, Unless you "stitch" in a design (sorry, the technical term has lost me) which would be far less detailed!
Does anyone have any other ideas for what type of sneaker/trainer/shoe I could use?

Yeah, I had this in mind. IF I were to create the "NG sneaker" it would be a line design, no fill.

I'd buy them, too. The one thing is the rays that were mentioned earlier need to be Light, Dark, Neutral, Evil, and Fab (and maybe some limited Gold ones?). Then whatever designs you want...

I want a pair o' gold ones for coming up with the idea >:(

OK, so after a bit of research I've come across an artist which has inspired me in the way I'll be laying out the design.

BOBSMADE - If you're familiar with the site DeviantART then there's a probability that you've come across some of his work once or twice, as his work stands out above all the rest.

Along with the layout, I've decided to invest in more suitable equipment. Going from Caster Roy acrylics, and replacing them with Lucas acrylic paints. Also, I may swap my Staedtler waterproof pens to Faber Castell, or use a mix of both, depending on the effectiveness of the Inks

Now although this may seem like a insignificant change, the durability of the products I use changed the life span of the design. Basically, Without the proper research, the shoes will either be suitable for a shelf or a dry day.

Im having a hard time finding decent character reference without having to go through flash files.
Although this move is necessary it is also time consuming.

If anyone has access to any classic NG character images, then please either PM me, or post a link or image to the forum topic.

I love the overall design and color scheme of Newgrounds, so hell yeah, I'd buy a pair. I've always wanted really cool shoes that are unique, and those would be perfect. I would wear them every single day for the rest of my life, I'd sleep with them on. I can even help gather young Asian children to make a sweatshop so we can get this shoe idea rolling. They will be expertly trained by me, of course.

Yeah, mostly black with a nice preportion of orange, that would be sick.
With like and small angry faic symbol on the back where the logo would be.

I've written down most of these, and hopefully you'll get to see them i the finished design. BUT PLEASE, continue to come up with more. I should have a very basic design done by tomorrow evening, followed by a colour scheme.

The ideas which I almost certainly will be including are;
- Angry Faic on the sole
- 'NG' symbol on the back on the trainer, with maybe a TankMen character underneath..
- Tank logo (depending on the actual cutting of the trainer I use and space available. It may be i place this under the NG symbol)

I am also in the process of contacting the respectable artists in which the design(s) may concern, as without their permission I am liable to be sued.

Any idea on the bottom of the shoe? Really not an important part but its relativly cheap to alter the rubber and such on the bottom.

Also, here's a very vague and primitive kind of idea. It's pretty shitty but its on the right track to what seems most appealing.
