I've been using them since build 6801 (early builds, that was even before beta). It's great, it's stable, it's sophisticated, it's fast, it has a lot of news (optimized applications can now use GPU core as another CPU), and it's just great.

A lot of you will say now "Oh XP was better", but I think not. XP is now great, but XP without SP1 was pain the anus for me.
BTW Win7 are in Release to Manufacturing/Gold stage at the moment.

What do you think? Have you tried it yet?

Idk what everyone's problems are Vista works great for me. I think everyone's to excited about a new software (the macs) to really even give Vista a chance. They notice 1 pop up and that computer is virus infected for sure! When really that was just noting something to make your Vista expierince better.

Been using XP on my mac for a while, never wanted to get Vista. Now that Windows 7 is near release, i'll probably upgrade to it once mac also gets an upgrade this autumn. Another reason to upgrade is that I've been using FAT32 for the longest time, never thought about formatting to NTFS until recently.

Windows 7 is awesome. I've started to grow a little tired of the interface though, I think the transparency looks horrible. Other than that I have no complaints.

I can't be bothered with installing a new OS so I'll never know what it's like... Until I buy a new computer that is.

Using the Release Candidate now, agreed, it is great, a pretty big improvement on XP, a massive improvement on Vista. I would get the RTM version of 7, but nearly everybody else is trying to, so it's painfully slow. In the mean time I've just got the RC installed with the RTM wallpaper (which is seriously nice btw).

Probably one of my favourite versions of Windows, I'll probably use it bit more than Linux now (maybe anyway, we'll see how it does).

I also use a Mac and am interested in also having Windows 7. Do you know of any sites which give a simple tutorial on using Boot Camp or whatever other application used to do this?

Windows 7 is a wonderful Operating System. My favorite part of it is the taskbar management, which helps me out a lot compared to clunky vista or XP. I've used all three, and I have to say, besides bells and whistles, they're all very similar to me. (You need two gigs of ram to run Vista or it'll suck, so stop saying it's vista that's bad and get a decent computer.) As long as an operating system can run all my programs and games, I have no problem with it at all.

Windows 7 is going to be expensive, $200 for premium, so I'll probably hold off until I build a new computer, and the system builder's edition comes out, which is usually almost half the price.

There's not a damn thing wrong with my vista. As long as I can play my games, I'm good.

I prefer XP. I mean, yeah SP1 sucks, so just get the XP SP3 edition.

I have been using W7 for a few months now, I really like it, but it's still a bit buggy for me. I find XP to be more reliable. For games anyway.

I'd say the best community out there for Mac users is http://www.macrumors.com/
Their forums have a Windows section, as well as tutorials

Everyone I know who has Vista has had at least one really annoying problem with using it, usually with using older softwares and games.

Wow, Windows 7 looks like sex indeed. The only thing is is I'm to poor to afford it. I have the newer one anyways. Windows 2000 XP.

I am still sad inside.

Interesting stuff.

Errm...Im not sure.

I bought mine for about £2, Yes 2 pounds.

In russia because there was a market full of software no matter how new or old each costs £2.

So yea i thought this isnt going to work but gave it a shot...installed it, seems pretty legit and full to me, As all the visuals and software is there.

No trial limmit or anything, fully registered...and seems to take up 512 MB of Ram instead of 1 GB of ram like Vista does.

* turns up graphics to Max on crysis *...so yea.

Badass! Link please? My comp isnt the fastest out there, apparently you can use the GPU core as another CPU? Holy shit. When you install it, it keeps all your applications installed, right? If it does, Im installing.

I have vista, and, half my games didnt work, i had to download a shitload of patches, and other than compatibility issues, it uses up alot of memory so shitty computers with vista are more than frustrating. also now theyve more or less abandoned vista, so us lucky vista people are, for all purpose and intent, on our own

I have Windows 7 on my laptop and it's noticeably faster than Vista, which I didn't have a problem with except it used a ton of RAM. If you were to do a clean install of Windows 7 you could see that only 8(?) things were running in the background to make it work, but since I upgraded from Vista, I still have 50 things running in the background, but W7 still manages to stay fast.
