3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsIt's been in pop culture. It's been on NG. It's even been on the news... Every news station is making their own accounts and expect us to read their trivial ass drippings... Twitter is being marketed as something everyone everywhere does, especially teenagers... Being a teenager and knowing NO ONE who uses Twitter aside from famous people or people on Youtube who think they are famous (deserved or not), I must ask: Does anyone actually use Twitter? Does anyone actually 'tweet' about the minutia of their lives? Did anyone Twitter BEFORE Congress started during Obama's speeches? Am I missing something? Is it, like, incredibly stupid from the outside but sucks you in, or is everyone just making it out to be something more than it is?

Not to mention that one moon mission that had a guy on the ship Twittering.

Read this thread then be embarrassed that you're a fucking bandwagon whore.
I have an account but I've never used it, don't plan on using it either.
None of that stuff interests me.
The sad part is that in twenty year, Twitter will become the place we look up all our news: all Newspapers will be gone, and all the news stations will lose viewers and crash and burn.
Although, knowing Fox News, this may not be a bad thing...

This to be honest.
I don't use Twitter, what's the point
Facebook is so much better.

I tried it but it's really confusing. It makes me feel like an old person introduced to modern technology. :(
Good to know. It just... creeps me out when FOX and Friends and MSNBC say "Follow our tweets! They're the bees knees!"

It's like a global SMS. So imagine you're saying to your friend via text "I feel so ill today", using twitter you're sending to every one that follows you!
I literally just left my twitter page. Wade, Mike, Liam, WritersBlock, Twilight, and ziggyzack99 are a few Newgrounders who Twitter.

I know... That's my point. Everyone could easily just... make news posts or something

It's just being used for the wrong purposes. If you manage a club or sport at your school and need to get a message across to all of your members without the hassle of getting all their emails, finding their facebooks, etc, then twitter makes that process a little easier. If you're a game development company and like to host contests or give updates to players, twitter makes that process easier. If you're some idiot who likes to twitter than you're pooping, then you probably don't deserve to use twitter.

Same thing with Facebook status updates, except that with Facebook you also get a ton of stupid news you don't care about, like quizzes.
So the difference between Twitter and Facebook is that you don't get a bunch of automatic bullshit?

actually real life conversations are muuuuuuuch better.
I use twitter for the shits and giggles. I use it as a thought log, really. No big deal
Though, facebook is much better.

They're all stupid... Like you need more reasons to bullshit about how your life is filled with more fantastic adventures than anyone else's. It's almost come to a point where such sites have become status symbols amongst the youth populace today, such is the world we live in.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I used to think it was kind of stupid to twitter unless you tweeted on the go. I could never understand why you would sit at a computer and twitter. However, since joining a little while ago (link to my account if your interested), I've been able to see why people like it. It's kind of fun to be able to follow the NG folks, as well as other peoples tweets. I don't really check my twitter that often though (once a week at most).
I use it, although admittedly mostly to follow celebrities for news. Julie Benz posts pictures from the set of Boondock Saints 2, David Mitchell links to things he's written, Nathan Fillion brags about how awesome he is, Felicia Day shows she really is a huge nerd and isn't just pretending, and Stephen Fry continues to be God of Twitter.

This happens with everyone willing to give it a go. On the fence or negative because they follow others opinions blindly, then they use it and like it.

That's really, really, not the same thing at all.
