Xbox 360 Live ?

Is there any way to play online free? And if not, can I buy like a prepaid game card from the local shops or something like that?
In general, is there a way to play online without using a credit card? I'm new to the 360, so please help me.

You should be able to get them at your local video game store, yes. Just ask for an Xbox Live Gold Card at the counter.

They come in 1 month, 3 month (maybe), and 1 year lengths.

The pre-paid cards cost £40 for a whole year, so it's not too expensive. Buying pre-paid cards also save you about £5 a year than if you're on an auto-refresh monthly credit card thing.

They do come out with 3 month cards. In fact, if you buy any recent "anticipated" games, there's a chance that you could get a free 1 month card or something like that.

Just make sure that you have an Internet connection (a very good one if you want to play online).

Of course, you do need a prepaid Xbox Live card if you want to play online. If you just need updates and some DLC, with no intent on playing online, just create a gamertag free of charge.

If you Xbox is brand new then you should be entitled to a free months Gold Membership (online) on your first 3 accounts.. so yeah, might want to check that out bro! You should be asked if you would like a free month trial when you nearing the end of account completion on the Xbox!

have you tried the connection setup yet though? because i dont want you to buy a prepaid card without testing to see if it actually works. a lot of 360 users dont have LIVE because of the connection so test it out
