Damit I read this awesome book I think it was Shackelton the man who traveled to the south pole. Also There was another good book I read about the 101st airborne division in WW2.

I can't say I ever been mind blown by a book. Hmm...the only ones that have ever come close to leaving me speechless were the Sherlock Holmes books

The best mindfuck ever. It's a movie within a book within a book. This is an average page once you get past about chapter 3 or so.

You got a deathwish, Johnny Truant?

The Shining by Stephen King.

Also, here's a site with his recommendations on books:

You could probably use that site for other author's recommendations, as well.

Like I said in a recent thread, "The Road", the setting is like in a post apocalyptic world, the characters are a man and his son. Just basically shows you that how the real end of the world will be, no hope, and yeah all that good stuff.

Read the real "I am Legend". It's pretty short, because it was really written to bring you to the end realization. The film didn't do the real point of the story justice at all and was more a commercialized, claptrappy, happier-ending bastardization of the real book and it's intent.

The Hungry City Chronicles is a great read, but It's not a thriller and everyone dies in the end.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waiting_for _Godot was amazing but not as you know it.Its pretty random, totally nonsensical with a character called Lucky who has a monologue, it is long, rambling, and does not have any apparent end but when you look deeper into the text at its inner workings you can extract some pretty insightful things like life and death to point out just one.Beckett wrote it after his experiences of war time Europe and how it affected his view on life and other aspects of his being.

Another book I read was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regeneratio n_(novel), I read it this year for my leaving cert and i found it a really good read, the character dynamics and how through the course of the story they change.I liked it a lot and i recommend it.

For me the Harry Potter books are quite important, as a person with severe dyslexia it takes me far longer to read a book than the average person dose.Being constantly scrutinized and chastised by teachers who saw me as another thick student , I saw books and reading as foes in my early life.
But when a decent learning support teacher told me to read the Harry Potter books and take it a page a day, it motivated me into reading more and more books. So the Harry Potter books are a milestone in my education and my life.
