Annoying kids or bad parenting?

Today I was at the super market doing my weekly shopping, when I hear a child screaming in the next aisle. Out of curiosity, I decided to go there as if I never heard it.

And then I saw it....

This little fucking brat screaming for a box of fucking Oreos. I really wanted to see his mother smack the crap out of him, but she just picked up the Oreos and resumed her shopping. So I continue my shopping, then the little fucker starts throwing fists at his mom for not getting him a copy of Mickey's Clubhouse on DVD.(keep in mind, this child is, what I assume, 5 years old)

So now I was expecting some hardcore slapping, but the mom simply picked up the box, asking her child to calm down, while he was still hitting her.

So whose to blame? The child for being an arrogant fuck? Or the mother for giving her child what he wants?

They are both to blame but then again one is the cause of the other, so basically it's just the mother's fault. From what you have seen, that is.

If I was the mom, I'd do absolutely nothing and let the kid keep screaming.

Eventually, the kid would learn that he wouldn't get a reaction, let alone 'his way' by throwing a tantrum.

It's normally bad parenting leads to annoying kids. If the mother had slapped him or at least told him off properly, the kid most likely wouldn't be anywhere near as bad as that. These kind of kids really need more discipline, then we would't have so many retards in school who think they're the centre of everything and that nothing can touch them.

While I dont think there is any reason to hit children, yes, it is the moms fault for giving the kid what he wants. Shes just teaching him that screaming gets you what you want.

This is how I look at it.

Everyone is born exactly the same. Their is no "arrogant", "evil", or "jackass" gene. So how we are raised and what we experience in life changes that. The kid was raised to get what he wants when he wants it when he complains. So if that doesn't change, he will be your normal idiot who sits there complaining about everything that is their own fault but blame others for not helping them with it.

Obviously the parent, don't get me wrong some kids are spoiled brats who crave reward just for being themselves naturally but at some point a parent has to draw the fucking line. Nothing annoys me more than a screaming child in public, if not for the child's sake (discipline helps you way down the line) do it for the sake of the other shoppers who aren't as entertained as you are by it's whining.

I guess it can kinda depend on age too, once a child develops its personality there's really no turning back, then you can beat the shit out of it for its behavior cause its one hundred percent their fault.

All I know is that if I were to have acted up in a grocery store or public place, I'd be smacked right then and there, and then given the belt. Well people are afraid to slap a kid now because that isn't politicaly correct and you should never hit another person, and other stuff. But the mother shouldn't have given the kid what he wanted. She should have locked him in the car with a sign that says, "My Mother Isn't Watching."

Well It was the mums fault, The kid just acts on what it has learned in its short life. What seems to have happened is the kid asks for one thing and gets it, Becoming spoiled. Then whenever it can see something it wants it assumes the mum should have already got it and is now just being mean to it, Thus causing the kid to be annoying as hell.

The parent let the child become like that by giving him what he wanted all the time in the past. The child got in the habit knowing he would get what he wants, thus refuses to go on without the Oreos or he DVD out of discipline and punishment and will cry more than and average child who gets at least some discipline from his parents.
