I Have an Eye Disorder

Okay I was just at the Eye Doctor, and apparantly I have an eye disorder called Lower Eyelid Ectropion or something.

It doesn't seem to affect my vision or anything, it just makes it so that my tears don't drain normally. My lower eyelids seem to sag a bit and instead of draining my tears near my nose, they drain out towards my cheeks.

The doctor says that this condition is fairly common in old folk. That would be fine, except that I'm 16! He says that he's NEVER seen this condition before in someone my age, or even close to my age.

It doesn't seem like a problem now, but I've looked up on it, and apparantly it gets worse with age. How the hell will my eyes look when I'm older? I'm freaking out about this!

Didn't even noticed, I just assumed that everyone depoisited tears like I do.

Last time I had my eyes checked I was 12, and the doctor didn't say anything about it then. Of course my new doctor was pretty old and seemed more professional-like.

Maybe I'm just making a big deal out of this.

i got a twitch on my left eye... thats also my really bad eye... its -125/20 compared to my right eye 20/20... wtf.. :( i want a lasik, but i cant afford it

Your right, I could really get something out of this. Plus, it isn't life threating which will make for an excellent lifestyle for me! who knows maybe they'll make a movie about me, or at least a special on the medical channel.

I also have fucked up eyes. I have binocular disfunction which means that my eyes won't work together or something like that. What sucks even more contacts won't work for it I have to have glasses for it.

All I've got, besides my "rare" disorder, is slight stigmatism. My eyes are close to perfect, but just not there.

When i was young, my tear ducts closed up and i had to get surgery. They gave me apple juice afterward so here is some advice.

Ask for apple juice afterward because it helps the healing process.

I think I have that too...because my tears go more towards the cheeks. Might just be hypochondria though :P

Well, no it doesn't seem like much now. But remember, this is a disorder that is likely for people in their 60's to get, on account of their saggy lower eyelids. I'm just scared at if it'll get worse as I get older, I'm only 16!

I've also heard that because of the faulty depoisiting of teardrops you can get rashes, irratated eyes, and this might lead to worse...

My brother had Teosis. or lazy eye lid. Apparently I have one too, not as severe though. There is an entire village of inbred brownnecks (they're like rednecks, but Asian, and more of them lol), that has this condition, all droopy eye lid, unfortunatly some relative is from there. (on my mom's side).

Technically it isn't a disorder due to it not disrupting your day to day activities, maybe when you're older it shall become a disorder, but right now it's a potential disorder.

On a diagnosis, I think you might have a sever case of The Asian.
