Looking For Autotuner 2009-07-24 15:13:54 Reply

Hey all,

I'm makin' a parody of one of my favorite songs. But in order to do it right, I need an autotuner. You know, one of those things that makes your voice all.... um... I dunno, like T-Pain.

Here's the catch: I need one that is either free or very cheap, I have a budget here =P

I'm looking for an adjective! 10 points, begins with the letter "I," and is a characteristic of pitch.

Anyway, perhaps instead of making a cheesy cover of an already cheesy song, how about you download the demo of a Digital Audio Workstation and/or buy a cheap electronic keyboard and compose some original music and submit it to the portal?

We have enough T-Pain impersonators on SliceThePie.com.

P.S. the answer was "In-tune"

Because the entire point is to make people think of the original song. A familiar tune that has lyrics that cater to a specific audience. I COULD write a new song... but that would be counter-productive in terms of what I'm aiming to produce.

Oh man (facepalm)....
That's the VST plugin.
You copy that .dll file into your VST folder, refresh effects list and use it.
If you use FL you'll have to go to choose effects-> more->fast scan-> choose to use with FL.

This G-Snap works just fine for me, I used it many times.
On less aggressive settings can sound more natural than Antares Auto Tune.
Also have midi capabilities and you can link it to a MIDI channel and make the voice to sing the line that you're playing on the keyboards or recorded as MIDI track.
I'm pretty sure that you stumble into installing it.

I recorded this into a Wavosaur, slapped Gsnap onto it, snapped it to F Major, and now it will rival Cher. Especially when he screams. It sounds really good.

my settings:

min freq all the way down
max freq all the way up
gate all the way down
speed all the way down
make sure to select a scale
threshold halfway
amount 100%
attack 1 ms
release 1 ms

Melodyne is probably most suited for the job, if you can afford it.
