What is Newgrounds Becoming?

I remember someone said (back when the redesign just had been launched) that Newgrounds was becoming a Myspace (or something) wanna-be site.
What do you think? What is Newgrounds becoming as a site? Where will "we" be?

To be honest, Newgrounds is starting to feel like a mesh-up of the best... and worst parts of the internet while still maintaining it's original purpose. We have the classic flash portal, but we also have an Audio portal similar to a radio, an Art portal that is similar to the *Art sites out there (e.g. DeviantArt), a blog system similar to those of social networking sites, and the usual forum.

I don't think we can get any worse, but I'm not sure if we can get any better, either...

I joined a few months (or weeks, can't recall) before the redesign and I though it wasn't an improvement back then. After a few months, I realized it was the best thing that ever happened to NG.

NG just is something we've all grown towards and we've all been entangled by. We just love it, no matter what happens.

I can barely remember the NG before the redesign, but I like it now. As long as they don't do anything too dramatic. I think the Art portal was a bit too much, but it somewhat worked out... Userpages was a great idea, I never really liked the tiny 500x500 pop up window you got.

Anyways, I think it's nice now, I just hope they keep it this way.

But then again, look at YouTube, that place turned into a shithole really fast, filled with spam-fags and redesign changes every goddamn week.

I'm not going to go into great detail with my comment since (due to my sign up date) I'll be considered a poser, idiot, and bandwagon jumper; however I started viewing the site when I was either 6 or 7 some odd 8 years ago when it was surrounded in obscurity and mature. I wouldn't say we're heading towards a social networking site but with all the ads (anyone remember the Cartoon Network ads that plauged the game section a year or so ago?) and the genre of content that dominates the front page now we're spiraling towards selling out.

Whatever we become it's not my option, Tom Fulp has spent a lot of time working on this site and it's his decision, how may of us are actually willing to leave because of a few minor changes? Most of us just enjoy viewing specific authors and the BBS anyway.

Myspace, Facebook and Twitter are pathetic inventions. Facebook is soomething everyone is too obssessed with. I've become my own mom's parent because of it. Myspace has horrible security and a motherfucking boatload of pedophile cases. Twitter is thousands of idiots posting sentence long blogs (Which aren't even blogs to begin with. I think that twitter is a stupid idea i agree. Myspace has WAY to many cases over the news of murder rape, ect. Facebook. If you actualy have a life you cant really become addicted and say OH IM GOING TO GET ON FACE BOOK AND NOT GET OFF FOR 3 DAYS STRAIGHT. personaly i use facebook more than myspace b/c of the news reports and such. although i get on occasionaly to check in with some ppl i know that refuse to use facebook for reasons i dont know.
