Most houses in Texas (including mine) are fairly eco-friendly. Which I suppose is ironic considering the reputation this state has for opposing "green" legislation.
You are a year late buddy.

That was pretty neat to read. Not like It changes anything tho...but neat nonetheless
Am I being a bit too presumptuous with this, but are you having some time to yourself just to look through Snopes? If you are, that's no problem, haha. I love that website, and I know I've read this one before. Irony is a big theme in a lot of them, particularly in that grand old politics section. It's on all sides too, which makes the reading all that more entertaining... or maybe concerning in some cases.

You better not have a problem with what I choose to do with my time. :P
I heard about this today and decided to look it up online. Just happened the snopes article was the first result in Google, but at least it confirmed the article as being true.

Doesn't change anything? Well, maybe all those sheep out there following Al Gore should wake up and realize he doesn't practice what he preaches. He's getting rich scaring everyone about man made global warming and using that money to power his giant home.

Haha, of course not, as long you don't have a problem with how I spend my time!

Yeah, I've found that Snopes is quite often one of the first results, if not the first one, when you search rumours like this. I like it because it's pretty simple to use and they have a pretty large database of random stuff like this... well, for American politics anyway.

lol sorry Wade guess I should have been More specific, It doesn't change anything...to me.
Aww Hypocrisy...you've done it again
Well that does it.... fuck mother earth... i saw an article on the internet that says Al Gores house is power hungry so fuck all of the life in known existance.
Obviously this proves Global Warming is fake and I'm leaving right now to go burn tires cause it has no harmful side effects what-so-ever.
Strangly enough, pollution is the only thing in the universe that doesn't come with a consequence.

That is pretty funny. It's also funny that Al Gore insists to fly on a personal jet instead of a public airline.
According to this site, the comparison between Bush's and Gore's houses is no longer true. The website is called "They Daily Green", though.
However, I'm aware that Gore doesn't have a lot of integrity. Man-made global warming is very probably happening, but Gore is not the guy you go to for the facts, you go to him for the hype. It's unfortunate that he has become the unofficial front figure on an issue that should have no front figure, and which should be strictly based on science.

Read some Richard Lindzen if you want the facts regarding global warming, not some award winning documentary that presents only one side of the argument and dumbs it down to market to the average retard watching films.
Well that's pretty funny. But I'm sure that's changed by now...right?
Shut up already.

These are just +1 posters.

I haven't even seen An Inconvenient Truth, and I probably don't want to, considering its lack of academic integrity and amount of errors that have remained uncorrected. At the moment, the subject doesn't interest me enough to make me read a book, but I think I got a pretty fair representation of the science of climate change by watching this series of videos.
Around where I live there have been record lows. We've had a very cool summer. They are calling for above average snow fall this winter here.

That's what happens with Global Warming... strangly enough, it brings about an ice age.
I'm no expert, but the way I understand it is that the ice caps will melt. This will alter the currents in the oceans that are responsible for common weather movements and warm fronts and basically bring them to a hault... causing the weather to dramatically cool in areas it shouldn't plunging the planet into a pre-mature ice age.
It has something to do with the ice caps being fresh water and the oceans being salt water... boyancy or some nonscense I know little about. At least, that's one theory.
In the end, I don't really care... the real issue is pollution and I see no harm in anyone trying to clean up the environment. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that smog exists and it's bad for our health. Worst case scenario, we clean up the environment and live in a world free of smog and pollution just to find out that Global Warming is bullshit... why anyone would consider 'fresh air' a bad thing, is beyond me.
On the other hand, if we're wrong, and Global Warming is real, and we just ignore it because big business is too cheap to give a shit about the environment, then we're all fucked.
Really though, I fail to comprehend how anyone can honestly believe that there are zero negative side effects to our constant burning of fossil fuels... Global Warming seems like the logical response to pollution to me.

What's funny about Al Gore and all his Global warming stuff, is that he is collecting millions of dollars on"Carbon offsets" where the plant trees, but they hardly ever planet a tree, and they just keep your cash.
Also when Al Gore travels, he rides in a Huge jet, even though less then 10 people travel with him.
“You only live twice: Once when you're born, and once when you look death in the face.”
I remember this in the political forum a long time ago, I was playing the devil's advocate and pretty much won the argument how Gore was actually more green than Bush. Main reasons were because he purchased all his energy from renewable energy companies, and purchased environmental tax credits (which IMO is a gigantic heap of dung) for the things that left a carbon footprint, which effectively reduced his environmental impact to zero.
However, Bush's house is far more practical and bottom line eco-friendly, which we all know is a bad thing.

Exactly. It's all a big scam.
cogspin
That's all very well, but I bet you GWB's house isn't ManBearPig-proof.
Gore's energy bill is probably so high because of all the heat sensors and auto-turrets...

Blindy agree without actually discussing the topic at hand... good plan! You don't want to stray too far from Wades pack, or else the big bad wolf might get you.

Yes, that is why I agree that the guy who made a bunch of money off a movie complaining about global warming, and then having a house that is horrible for the environment, is stupid. Ignore the obvious hypocritic nature of his way of life. I must just be hoping on the bandwagon of losers who idolize admins just for being admins.
I found this on snopes a while ago. Looks like we both go to the website sometimes...
