A guy who lose his time insulting Christians is a Stereotypical Atheist... and they call it loss of time... but they are losing their time insulting us... anyway I don't give a fuck to the Church I just pray and read the Bible I am Protestant, the Church is a loss of time... we are always listening the same, the story will always repeat, and there is always the same phony people... people which go to the church but are always doing shit and don't give a fuck for what is listening to and when people pray in the Church always say that in an inaudible and sad tone...

I'm an Atheist so I'll tell you a bit about me. Maybe I can fill you in a little.

Born and raised Catholic, I left the church and studied many different religions. None of them seemed to be right, so I don't believe. I love a friendly and honest discussion about religion because I love hearing other peoples views and it gives me a forum to express mine.

I was a non-believer for about 10 years before I could tell people that I was an athiest. Many people believe that since we have no loyalty to a higher power, we lack the ability to have any kind of moral compass. But that isn't true. I have a sense of morality, I just don't do it out of fear of eternal damnation. I behave because I view myself as part of humanity and I it to my fellow man to make this unpredictable roller coaster of life as good as it can be. But public sentiment places us a untrustworthy.

16% of American's don't believe (lumping Atheists, Agnostics and Deists together) However, we don't have any representation in congress, and imagine for yourself an open Atheist running for public office. Won't get too far will he? Meaning there are more Atheists than Hispanics, African Americans, Jews...yet we don't a lobby or representation.

I do know a few Atheists who live to be snotty and rude to religious people, don't go near them. Even I think they are pricks.

The Atheist stereotype is only really something that could be dreamed up by religious folk. Because of this, it's no surprise that the vast majority of Atheist stereotypes that are being suggested are along the lines of: "I'M ATHEIST. I BASH RELIGION ALL DAY. I WANT TO SEE HUMANITY DESTROYED. I AM EVIL. I AM AN ANGSTY TEENAGER."

Essentially, Theists are just coming up with stupid caricatures of Atheists as a way of somehow validating their own ridiculous, fairy-tale beliefs. It doesn't matter how extreme of a stereotype you come up with, it will be nowhere near as inaccurate as religion.

Indeed, let's turn the tables around on a stereotypical religious person:

Religion: We really have no idea how the Universe was created, so instead we just say that some all powerful omnipotent being did it. Also, we're better than you in perhaps every way imaginable on the grounds that you are clearly a tool of the devil and as such, are bound to an eternity in Hell. Whenever somebody feels the need to disprove our God, we disregard everything they say and continue to assert our faith "argument". We also enjoy flaunting about our religion in public places for the sole reason that is to try to engage in verbal disputes with the demons mentioned earlier. We assert that you are wrong because our God tells us so, and that we are right, because our God tells us so.

Now with all that said, while I'm not anti-religion, I honestly do not see the reason why so many of the religious feel the need to go out and proclaim their religion in places like, well here, on the General Forum, and then why they seem to feel the need to poke questions and prod our own personal stances on religion. Again, I'm not trying to take shots at anyone, I'm just genuinely curious as to what in their head tells them this is a good idea.
