I've just read an article on swine flu, yeah yeah I know everyone knows about it, but I bet you didn't know the predicted death toll this winter is in the region of 20,000 - 65,000 deaths (FOR THE UK ALONE)
of course it is impossible to predict just how many people will die, or if anyone will die at all. but with the patients stacking up it's a likely prediction.

I honestly do not believe the hype. However, i do find it a little unnerving that there is yet another disease i have to look out for. A few years ago i had to watch out for the bird flu. Before that, the West Nile Virus.
I remember as a kid the only thing i had to worry about was a cold.

Well, it is possible. Flu's run their course in the form of having a mild outbreak in the spring and then assfucking everything in the winter.
But we have modern medicine. I'm not that concerned.

Sure, the vaccine is coming in early fall, but think about it. The vaccine isn't being developed in the US. It's being made in Europe. And if they have sick people in their home countries, they're not gonna give a fuck about the US, they're going to pass a law making it illegal to transport it out of the continent. So yeah, I agree that the swine flu isn't any different from regular flu's, but you can't rely on foreign governments to ship the vaccine to us until everything hunky dory in Europe.

This is about as credible as the world ending in 2012. The swine flu really isnt any different than normal flu.
Alright, but, the H1 N1 does NOT come from pigs... generally.. I've forgotten how it got the name, but, it's spread from person to person, not the dinner plate. Just wash your hands, and use common sense (I'll assume you have it, just don't use it for NG). If there's an outbreak, wear a face mask, and make sure it's closed up properly over your face. There's no use in wearing it if there's no chance you can breathe it in.
If you get the flu, stay away from people, cover your face when you sneeze with your arm, stay hydrated and get rest, and wash your hands. And, remember to bleach surfaces, and clean up your area so that others wont get sick.
