The arguments that you said aren't Christian but catholic, Protestants tolerate that... don't mess with Christianity in general... Catholics are abusive and not respectful, and one important thing in religion is respect, I think Catholics are heretics and not the people that they acused of heresy in Medieval Age. It's good the fact that the Priests aren't authority like they were... The Protestantism was a the better thing invented in the Middle Age and that religions should be expanded...

I've seen/heard multiple people say having two parents of the same gender damages a child. This is utter bullshit. I know 2 lesbian couples with children, and the children are both more intelligent, more well-behaved, and all around better people than the shit-heads I see come from heterosexual parents.

Being human doesn't make you a homophobic, society and upbringing does that. Saying it is human nature is just a way of denying responsibility for our own actions. Human nature cant really be changed all that much, upbringing and social pressure can be changed, given a little effort and willpower.

They tend to go for the opposite gender because evolution has made them that way inclined - just as most humans go for the opposite gender. Animals don't necessarily connect mating to breeding, or even other things associated to breeding like nest building in birds. They are all different acts that (for the animal) happen to tie in together to allow for optimal breeding conditions as evolution has dictated. If an animal feels like mating then they may just go for the most suitable candidate, particularly if the ideal partner is not available or the animal is feeling particularly lusty (in which case they may go for just about anything - like a dog getting it on with a house cat for example).

its ignorant to claim that all christians hate gay marriage. Im a very religious christian, not in my church but in spirit and mind, which is all that matters to me because I believe religion should be a personal thing.

But thats sidetracking to the point, im very chrisitan, and thats what leads me to believe that gay marriage is right because I believe in universal equality and compassion. Everyone should be treated the same and no one should have their rights taken away based on discrimination, church or not, the government shouldnt be involved with it.

Well seeing as how our country was kinda founded on the ideas of "Life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness", I really can't say why anyone in this country should be against it, or why there is even any sort of controversy when it is being legalized in a state.

I do realize that we have not always expressed those rights on to others in a number of situations, not just slavery, but you would think we'd have learned by now.

I mean really, gays fight our wars, and live in our governments, they should be given the basic rights, I mean really, WHAT makes them in any way inferior, if gays COULD get married in more places, they would be FAR better parents than many straight families ever would be.
