Support Autism by playing FF7

The Speed Gamers

Essentially a group of gamers is playing FF7 for a week strait (non stop) in order to raise money for Autism. During their first 3 days they raised 20k, their original goal, so they've bumped up their to 50k.

I had a friend who goes to an art institute link me to this and asked me to make a post, so I am. If you're up for contributing, that's great, and if you aren't, well at least take a look or pass on the link. Several of our members here have autism, so its a great cause and just shows what you can achieve by simply gaming when you go for it.

But seriously, that's awesome. Just shows that video gaming can lead to great things. Not just increased IQ and whatnot, but people are actually doing good for mankind.

Haha I could beat FF7 like 3 times if I was playin it for a week non-stop. FF7 is an amazing game :D

Awesome. I couldn't even play Imperishable Night for three hours, but then again different kind of game, and they have practice at this stuff. The marathon alone is a feat in itself. As for the cause... Well, it's pretty good. I'd like to see some solid research into the causes of autism, something definite, not crazy scares about mercury in MMR vaccinations or whatever. I'm rooting you guys on, gamers!

The popularity of the series certainly helps, but you can imagine all sorts of things you could do for a solid week on a webcam to raise money for a good cause.
