I learned a valuable secret today.
Touching is a better way of communicating than talking.
Let me explain myself.
I found when having a conversation with the opposite sex, touching their shoulders, slapping their wrist, tapping their head, or poking them while talking, offered a better chance of getting into a deeper relationship with them.

I actually kind of agree with him in a less peculiar way.

Making physical connection with someone is, in my eyes, a sign of closeness. I doubt poking them or tapping them will do you any good, but patting them on the shoulder or something of the like may show results. This, of course, would have to be with someone you were already friends with. It would be odd to do that to someone you didn't know well.

Also, it's a signal to the other person that it's okay to do that behavior back. I find that if someone never makes physical contact with me, I don't really do it back.

But then how come your girlfriend had to walk out of that movie, and you didn't even follow her? I guess your relationship is so deep, you didn't even have to tell each other what would happen (her getting up and leaving and you not following, she made her decision knowing that), I'm sure the two of you will get through it.
