I found this site when my friend linked me to retarded animal babies it was so funny lol. This place seems really nice and i hope to post here on a regular basis. HI AGAIN GUYS.

This is merely a practice post for all of you welcomers and I look forward to see your replies.

Like I said before, I really think that there should some sort of link to this in the rules page. Otherwise, no one's going to know.

How though? this club could work, but I have to agree with what AllReligiousDrunk said to be honest. Unless you find a way to advertise this so any new member could find it, it's unlikely they will. I very rarely see "hi im new" threads anyway, most people just post instantly in General.

Well I linked to the crew in my sig (W2NG). If we all do the same we can probably get what we are looking for.

"W2NG" is extremely vague, a new users isn't going to know what that means at all, nor will someone randomly click a link named "W2NG".

Another user suggested putting a thread link in the rules section, which isn't too bad an idea, that's only if the club manages to get an approval I guess.

Well not everyone has to do that. I only do that for the sake of space. I usually max out on links pretty quickly.

Your level is unrelated to how much you know about the site. Don't make assumptions based on level.

This particular user isn't a very strong example due to the fact that his other stats aren't that high, but he does have 1500 medal points has been here since 07. He also cares enough about the site to buy gear. We have no idea what he knows.

You could be completely right or you could be wrong, but know that level doesn't mean much. It's a representation of either how many flashes you watch or how much you care about the stat, neither of which are directly correlated to how much you know about the site.

If I didn't vote on my favorites every day, I would only be level 9 or 10 right now. Keep that in mind.

This is general advice that you should consider heeding.

Another thing that you should consider that I forgot in my first post is that not everyone's main account is their first account. I don't know if this is the case in this particular instance, though it could be, but it's still something to think about.

I've fallen into that trap before. Now that you can't change your own name anymore, users will often make new accounts and use those, instead.

Also, not everyone votes on all the flashes they watch, which is - based on this guy's medal points - something that might be the case here.

Just a word of advice from someone who's had this mindset before and been proven wrong.

I know people will have their opinions, but I understand yours, seeing that I believe that your level counts pretty heavily, I also believe your whistle level counts for matureness, and how much of an authority on this site you are.

I don't really know what my level has to do with my knowledge of this site. My knowledge comes from lurking, exploring the site, and reading the FAQ's and rules.

Whistle level is mere a representation of how much you know about reviews and actually, my whistle level simply comes from follow the Rage's Gift to You thread, which has now been locked.

While stats don't actually affect the way a user acts, they can give you a pretty good assumption. If they have over 500 posts I can only assume they're acquainted with Newgrounds and handle themselves fairly well. I know, it doesn't always work. Obviously a high post count won't make you a respected person. Though to quickly judge, you can always compare their former post with their post count. I generally judge people harshly based on grammar.

Level, though, not so much.

There's a trend, but it's not a blanket fact.

And yeah, I judge on grammar as well. If you don't have good grammar, quite frankly, you look like a complete idiot.

It sucks when everyone doesn't take you seriously just because I signed up a few days ago. This isn't my only account I've had, and I was actually on the BBS around '05.

How am I new? I have an earlier sign up date than you. God forbid I don't rate every movie I watch on here. I stopped caring about levels a while ago and just use NG for it's forums now.

Okay you guys must know I'm not new here. I've been around this site since 2004 or 2005. Can't remember year it was.

This club sounds like fun and I'll put this thread in my sig for the new users.

I've been paying attention to this thread for awhile and I'm not liking what I'm seeing at present. Because right now this looks like it's becoming a chit chat thread for those of you that are joining to welcome the theoretical new users. It would be difficult to make a club like this work anyway, but I think most of us are willing to let you try but you have to do it right. Don't keep bumping it up unless you're replying to new user postings here. If you can't do that, then the club is a failure and is going to be locked as such. Just saying, we have a lounge and what not already for this forum, we don't need more.
