Anyone else here like Modest Mouse?

For those of you who don't know, Modest Mouse is an indie/rock/alternative band with clever uses of metaphors, philosophical lyrics and phrases and sayings used in the early to mid-20th century. As lame as that sounds, the music is really good. Also, Isaac Brock's (the lead singer's) voice is awesome and slightly-lisped :P.

For some reason I've been told recently that my voice sounds like Isaac Brock's. Go figure.

This is Newgrounds. Everything is a joke.

Heard a lot about them. Never bothered checking them out. What album/s do you recommend?

I don't like them very much, honestly, the lyrics are so direct, they have little room for interpretation. His voice is a bit annoying, and the instrumentals are nothing truly amazing.

They're better than most pop music today, but its not all that great IMO, but I understand why you might like it.

Pretty much any album except We Were Dead Before the Ship Sank, but I would suggest Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About for you to listen to.

god thats a long album name.

Yeah my favorite album would probably have to be long drive. I actually listened to that album on a long drive with nothing to think about, it worked well.

Modest Mouse is my all time favorite band. Casing point, my sig.

As for favorite album, I would pick The Moon and Antarctica, or The Lonesome Crowded West.

I love them.
Everyone loves them.

They're a pretty big band and I'm sure make a great deal of money. They tour internationally and I own all but a couple of their albums.

RAWR.

I liked "Float On" but that's it. Like someone else said, I understand why you'd like it, just not my cup of tea personally.

What the fuck, YES!!! I'm currently listening to them, shuffle's playing "The Good times Are Killing Me". I don't know, I've ben totally addicted to this band for the last few months. I've lawyas liked them, but lately they're basically all I listen to. Hell, even today I was working my job at the radio station and got so excited to find "Float On" on a Promo CD that I interrupted an already-in-progress song to play it.

I also just saw their video earlier for their new single "Satellite Skins", good song, really fucking weird video.

Try listening to some of their older songs :D.

The thing is, their older music isn't pop. They kind of conformed and turned into more pop music on a couple songs on Good News and then the whole album of We Were Dead. I personally like their older stuff better

I'm goin to a Modest Mouse concert September 4th in Missoula, Montana.

Sorry for the double post, posted too quickly. Isaac Brock takes the most advantage out of a lisp I've ever seen, hell, he wouldn't sound nearly as good without it in my opinion. Also, I see some of you guys weren't too into their most recent album, but I actually REALLY enjoy that one (along with all the other ones).

Okay, now I'm done.

Float On is a really good song of theirs. The vocals of the band sound a little weird when they sing the chorus xD, but I like it lol
