Happy 2nd Ng Redesign Anniversary!

For those of us who were around in 2007, you'll remember the 7/17/07 site redesign... that magical time when we all logged on to Newgrounds to find it all different and shiny and new.

The redesign was the platform for a lot of really cool new features on NG, like customisable userpages, for example. Since then, we've had more and more great features being introduced, the most notable and recent being the Art Portal.

Today marks 2 years since the redesign, so I cordially invite you all to share some of your fond memories of the old version of NG, what you remember from when the redesign happened, and / or what you think of how NG is doing now.

Also, show the staff some love for their continuing and tireless work to keep us NG-junkies happy :)

Well, since I signed up in '08 I never got to experience the "Old NG," but I'm sure it was pretty good.

Boy, i remember that day like it was yesterday :(

I remember when it first came out, all of the "congrats" flashes etc, it was beautiful.

Hopefully someday we can top the amount of users online at one time.

I had just signed up, and I remember it quite well. I wasn't much of a frequenter back then so I left about the 13th I'm going to say and came back the 24th-30th, somewhere around there and was like, "What the dick happened here?!"

I don't remember it, I was unfortunately on vacation. I didn't see it until July 28th I believe.

I remember being so crazy and happy when I saw that Newgrounds.com was just some tankmen working on a tank, for... hours. And then I wrote a super long blog post that is quite silly :P

It was nice, depositing your points yourself was kinda a pain but it was overall good. Im not gonna go far enough as to say that the old layout was better than the one we have currently, but Im sure others will disagree. Because of this I think we need an NG skinner option built into our profile, like the existing Flash Portal options.

I was partially expecting the next redesign to happen today. They are planning another in the near future aren't they. Although near future can mean within the next few years here on Newgrounds, like the chat and Pico 2.

Also Happy 2 year anniversary of the redesign to Tom and the whole NG Crew. Now who wants to get shit faced.

Here! here! All the new content just added more to the NG experience and I can't imagine ever reverting back to pre 2007. The addition of the blogs (imo) was the most significant feature implantmented.

2 years... whoa, time sure flies. I too recall waiting patiently for the new NG to go online.. good times had by all.

Anyone have a screenshot of the 8 blocks of buttons crammed into the top right corner of which newgrounds used to be? I'm so glad for the new design and I don't think the newer users quit realize what a dramatic process this was.

I remember the redesign and didn't like it. I couldn't watch movies so it made there no point to going but after a while of reveiws I found freinds and those news posts where pretty useful when making freinds. Eventualy when they fixed the bug I loved the redisign. I was pretty new though

I heard they were planning to release the text search on the 2nd anniversary of the redesign.
