* Movie Parties - Xbox LIVE Gold members can sit together in a virtual theater with up to seven friends no matter where they are while your Avatars watch a movie, flirt or even throw popcorn at each other.

That sounds awful. I'm guessing that this would be a theater with the avatars, and then an even smaller screen for the movie itself?

Worthless, since the 360 is too loud to watch a film on.

Also this is a horrific idea. How could you enjoy a film with the stupid avatar things dicking about in front of it?

I watch things on my 360 a ton, I've never had it being 'too loud' it is always fine?

And I guess pissing about with your mates will be half the fun.

The thing that I'm looking forward to is the avatar market thing.

The game rating system sounds decent. Any news on when it will actually be coming out or is it still just some time near the end of the year...ish

August 11th.

The rating system is a good thing to add to the dashboard but I was watching videos on people who signed up for the preview program and I have found to faults with it so far. Mind you it is still in beta until it is launched on the 11th so this could be fixed by then. Anyway, you once you click on to rate something you can't back out unless you rate it (without turning off your 360) and the second thing is that you can rate things you haven't played yet so that could be a bad combo. Hopefully it will be fixed.

I was actually mistake in my title for this thread, this isn't the real fall update. When Microsoft launched NXE they made it so much easier to update LIVE without having to do just a big update in the Fall and Spring. There will be multiple big updates leading up to Christmas bringing a lot of the other stuff they talked about. And of course there will be even more after that.

Are you going to buy any? They all look like games I would have bought by now if I had wanted them.

Well they have some other games that I have never owned or tried such as Burnout Paradise and Kameo. I can't really download anything off of GoD right now because I'm sporting the old school 20 gig HDD. I plan to get at least a 60 but am waiting to see with all this SKU switching around that MS is doing if they will cut the price of the 60 gig considering they will not making those models anymore.

A game like Crackdown which I just recently re-bought I would have downloaded off the marketplace. The game is fun and under appreciated. I would rather have downloaded it rather than have it on retail disc is because although the game is fun and awesome the load times are terrible and the frame rate drops dramatically. Having it on my HDD rather than disc would help it out a bit.

yeah you can only use it on your pc though, not through the console which is a bit inconvenient
better than going to the store to buy a points card though

I don't know whether to buy some COG armour or save a bit more for a lightsaber.

A few updates were discovered that Microsoft didn't tell us that are coming to the Xbox 360 with the Facebook/Twitter update. There will probably be a lot of little stuff in the update that tweaks and fixes things. Often those are the best things about the updates the social networking shit.

First of all, music games like Lips, Guitar Hero and Rock Band will be getting their own dedicated stores on the Xbox Live Marketplace, making it even easier to buy Timbaland songs. Brilliant! A brand new channel called "News and More" is also coming. This channel will stream the latest headlines from MSNBC.com, MSN Autos, The New Yorker and Dilbert.

The update is live. Facebook, Twitter, Last.FM and Zune Video are all up for anyone that cares. None of them really have to do with gaming, but the Last.FM program is actually really cool.

I'll sign on later and see if they changed anything since the preview. I have been using the update for a couple of weeks now and Facebook was pretty buggy. My 360 actually crashed when using it.

I was in the preview program as well. I don't like how cluttered the dashboard is getting with all the blades. My Community, Spotlight, Inside Xbox, etc. is getting a little too excessive.
