Can you be born with beliefs?

I think it's possible to be born with beliefs what do you think? my belief is that if you are using the bathroom there is no reason for everyone to know about it, or make a big deal with bringing a paper in their. I'm pretty much a stick in the mud when it comes to that and my parents think that i don't EVER take a shit because they never see me spend more than 5 mins in the bathroom.

My mom told me that when i was a baby i was really unusual. Everytime i needed to poo in my DIAPER i only did it under the table and not in front of people. I'm either born with really good observation skills and i knew that people need privacy when using the toilet and for a baby under the table was the quickest, and most private place to get to, or i'm just born with the belief that no one should see me when taking a dump.

What do you guys think?

People aren't born with beliefs, they are taught them through observation. If this habit is truly something you do habitually than you would have learned it from some sort of role model.

well thats the thing i do remember spending a lot of time under the table. I remember it clearly. Not as a baby but around 3 and 4 i remember. So it's totally illogical for her to be wrong.

So you think being shy is the same as being born with belief?

No you cant be born with beliefs. The most common cases of someone really young believing in something is usually because their parents gets them to start believing it as soon as possible (common with religion today).

It's certainly possible that we could be born with natural intuitions, and that observation to understand unlocks the abilities to do so. Which could also work in reverse, developing our own habbits against instincts to carry out living necessities. Who knows? You're preintelligence in the art of private pooing could have been caused by a tramatic experience...and now your out for revenge against all who destroyed your previous lifestyle, using your own private behavior as manipulation for the ones who observe you. You cannot be born with beliefs, in the sense of the word.
Belief implies some kind of neural network has been formed in the brain, and in the womb.. that just doesn't happen.

There is a gene that makes a person more likely to have faith, but generally, knowledge is acquired by experince. It is possible that during the short period when the fetus is sentient inside the womb, they might learn some things, but there is really no reason someone would form belief.

You're born with certain natural instincts, say how to suckle, how to cry when you're hungry, or tired.
With regard to beliefs though, you're pretty much born with a clear slate. You'd have seen the older members of the family going behind a closed door to use the bathroom, therefore you found somewhere private also.

You learn from what people say and do around you. If your family smoked around you, it could be that you imitate them by putting things into your own mouth to "smoke". If your family happened to be naturists, then even though they may have clothed you, you'd still undress yourself as this is what's "normal" to you.
