I know some of you have encountered random message spam on MSN, about acai berry pills and the usual crap. It's pretty harmless and happens probably twice a day - no big deal.

But today I discovered something even worse when I came home - friend add spam? Basically, I get a friend request from someone I've never heard of every 10 seconds or so. Has anyone else encountered this?

MSN friend spam - what the hell?

Some of my friends mess with me sometimes and fill up the whole right side of my screen with messages. Guess the friend thing would work the same way, but does someone have to create multiple accounts to do it?

Lesson learned when you get a message from a friend on signing in saying
"Hey check out this this awesome website I found www.omghotgirlorgasmrapepigyoulike_pleas efuckmycomputerupthearse.com

Don't be tempted to click on it.

I've had random spam addresses trying to add me on MSN before too, though not quite in the same sort of numbers as what you got. I've just been looking for any sort of solution, but unfortunately I'm yet ot find anything. Maybe someone will have posted something by the time I post this message, but I'll keep a look out. Anyway, the safest thing to do would be to block them all, because they're probably bad news. It's usually obvious in their names/addresses, so you shouldn't need to worry about accidently blocking someone you know or something.

I'll post again if I find something. Someone suggested going into Tools, Options and then Privacy and setting it to only allow people on your allow list to contact youand so forth. It won't stop the adding requests, but it might stop other things according to what I've dug up. I'm not sure.

Ohh, but now I really want to! You sir are simply teasing me with your fancy hyperlinks.

I get random friend requests from gibberish emails or punjabi emails. I instantly block them unless I'm expecting a request.
